For Teresa Heinz Kerry, Food Is Personal and Political (Betty Ford is her role model)
New York Times ^ | October 12, 2004 | MARIAN BURROS

If her husband becomes president, she said, she will fulfill the traditional role of first lady. Asked if she would cook in the White House, she said: "I know there is a tiny little kitchen somewhere there, and I know I'll make my sauces unless I can teach the big chef to make the sauces the way I like them: they have more garlic in them than most people like."

To the frequent question of whether she would be more like Laura Bush or more like Hillary Rodham Clinton, she has a stock answer. "I say neither. I am going to be me, and they say `How are you going to be me,' and I say, `I don't know because I don't know what it's like there, but I will be me because that's the only thing I know how to do.'

What role model would she choose if she got the job of first lady? Mrs. Heinz Kerry is reflective and diplomatic. "I was always impressed by Betty Ford and what she went through and how full of integrity she was, and how brave.

I say neither. I am going to be me, and they say `How are you going to be me,' and I say, `I don't know because I don't know what it's like there, but I will be me because that's the only thing I know how to do.'

I'll kill myself if I have to listen to her for 4 years.

I got to be honest. Heinz products are really the best. Their ketchup beats everybody elses hands down. But, I don't vote with my stomach.

In a pig's eye. That classless broad is not fit to be First Lady.

Boy, if Kerry wins, whaddaya bet the chefs run screaming out the White House kitchen?...'Course, the "Tower of Jello" will not win.

Imagine taking direction from Ter-RAY-Zah on a state dinner menu? Man I'd rather be out shoveling "you know what" against the tide!

I shudder at the thought of Terezzza as first lady. Let's make sure it doesn't happen!

If her husband becomes president The author of this article is having a serious clash with reality. The only way that Madame Pickle-puss is going to cook in a White House kitchen is if the Bush's hire her. And, I seriously doubt that will ever happen. Besides, who would give Miss South Africa a security clearance?

Do everything you can to keep this pinhead out of the White House. Or, alternatively, award her the Nobel Prize for Pith.

Yeth, that'th it. Pith.

Fish soup? PUKE!

Quote from Family Circle article about her cookies being in a contest against Laura Bush'.
http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/31707.htm

The contest wasn't lacking for controversy. Heinz Kerry triggered an uproar when she claimed she personally didn't like the pumpkin spice cookies.

"It's not mine, by the way," said Heinz Kerry in an interview on National Public Radio in late July. "No, it's — somebody in our office gave that recipe out.

"And, in fact, I think somebody really made it on purpose to give a nasty recipe. I never made pumpkin cookies. I don't like pumpkin spice cookies."
