Lynn Cheney Upset With Kerry Over Remark [Hey ABC, how about spelling her name right?]
ABCNews Propaganda Network ^ | October 14, 2004 | AP

CORAOPOLIS, Pa. Oct. 14, 2004 — Lynn Cheney accused Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry of pulling a "cheap and tawdry political trick," apparently for invoking her daughter's sexuality in his debate with President Bush.

Asked Wednesday night whether homosexuality is a choice, Kerry noted that one of Vice President Dick Cheney's daughters is a lesbian, and said she would probably affirm that she was born that way.

"We're all God's children," Kerry said during the debate in Tempe, Ariz.

Mrs. Cheney made clear she thought Kerry had crossed a line into family privacy when she introduced her husband to a supportive crowd of 800 after a debate-watching party in the Pittsburgh suburb of Coraopolis.

"Now, you know, I did have a chance to assess John Kerry once more and now the only thing I could conclude: This is not a good man," she said.

"Of course, I am speaking as a mom, and a pretty indignant mom. This is not a good man. What a cheap and tawdry political trick."

She was not more specific. The vice president did not raise the matter in his remarks.

In his earlier debate with John Edwards, the vice president expressed no objection when the Democrat brought up his daughter, Mary. Edwards expressed "respect for the fact that they're willing to talk about the fact that they have a gay daughter, the fact that they embrace her. It's a wonderful thing."

Cheney thanked his opponent for the "kind words he said about my family and our daughter. I appreciate that very much."

Bush said in the debate he did not know whether homosexuality was a choice or fate.

He and Kerry both spoke of their belief that marriage is the union of man and woman, but the president supports a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and the Democrat does not. Kerry supports giving gay couples many of the civil rights that come with marriage, while stopping short of conferring that status on same-sex couples.

Another article on Effin's cheap shot last night. I just thought it was particularly funny that they spelled Mrs. Cheney's name two different ways in the article.

'Couldn't have said it better myself' ping! God bless you, Mrs. Cheney!

I have to say that I'm admired at VP Cheney's restraint. I would have choked this mofo on stage.

When you are a Liberal reporter, and think there is no right or wrong, no good or bad, then saying someone is "not a good man" is not specific enough for you.

It was a cheap shot by Kerry to demean Bush and Cheney at the expense of Cheney's daughter, Mary, who has nothing to do with the election, other than being a daughter. It would be no different if Bush had mentioned Kerry's daughter showing up at Cannes Film Festival with her boobs hanging out for the world to see. Kerry is slime, but even worse, he's liberal slime.

Kerry's excuse for being a blow-dried, pompous serial gigolo is that he was born that way.

I think Dick showed a great deal of class and integrity. One of my Demo, but undecided, friends made up his mind to vote Bush/Cheney over that remark by the breck girly boy.
I think, tonight, Bush was a bit astounded and had to hold his tongue.

All in all, I think Bush was far superior tonight. If it were a boxing match (oh, how I wish) you could say Bush was knocked back 3 times....Kerry was put on the ropes 4.

:O)

Oh, btw, the rumor in Hollywierd is...Ben Affleck "did" kerry's daughter. This was overheard in a restaurant/bar in the valley...who said it? Can you say Cheers?

Just a rumor, completley hearsay, I'm sure it's totally unfounded.

Suppose horse breeding came up in the debate, and Bush introduced the names of Kerry's daughters??

See any liberal spin on that yet? I think Mrs. Cheney has every right to be put out. Kerry just proves that when you think slime has reach bottom, he can always find a way to go one step lower.

That RAT chick (can't remember her name) that's the senior advisor to Lurch's campaign is on the record saying that Cheney's daughter's sexuality is 'fair game' in the campaign.

Absolutely despicable.

Gosh, the Atlanta paper had a front-page story on important lines in the debates, and the one about Mary Cheney wasn't mentioned. In fact, it wasn't mentioned in our paper at all. Must not have happened, I guess.

Touche'. The real reason Kerry brought up Mary Cheney was to remind republican voters of this fact. Technically, Mary runs her dad's campaign office so I guess this makes her a public figure but that's really, really low. The gays who heard it will understand this better than anyone but seeing as their votes are all but guaranteed this won't matter. I had seen the dearmary.com site before and the savagery the Gay Left reserves for gay apostates is worthy of Torquemada.

As a matter of fact, Bush bringing up Alexandra Kerry's Cannes fashion faux pas as an oh-by-the-way example of lib immorality would be the exact equivalent of Kerry's little name drop, but you can just imagine the righteous outrage that would unleash.
