Bush: "Young workers ought to be allowed to take some of their own moneyh and put it into private savings account. Compounding rate of interest will make it more likely the Social Security will be solvent for our children and grandchildren. The cost of doing nothing far exceeds the cost..." He's sounding very presidential.
Kerry: "An invitation to disaster." (With Kerry, everything Bush proposes is an invitation to disaster.)

Where do you get the money for Social Security?
GWB: Problems for our youngsters. Trillions of dollars. A vital issue in my second term. Savings account.
Kerry: An invitation for disaster. I have a record of fiscal responsibility. We will take care of social security.
Question: Greenspan

The real story of this debate is the outrageous performance by Bob Shieffer. I am stunned at the blatant bias in his questions. I know, I know. He is from CBS. But you would think that on such a national stage he would at least make an effort to be fair. Too much to hope for, I guess.
As far as the candidates go, I give it to Bush - not a slam dunk but he definately is winning.
