Duck hunter shot by dog in hunting mishap
Associated Press Oct. 13, 2004
PORTLAND, Or. A hunting dog stepped on a loaded shotgun, firing a blast into the arm of a Klamath Falls man, authorities said.
Matthew Harper, 27, was taken to a Klamath Falls hospital after the accident and then transferred to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, where he was in critical condition, the (Klamath Falls) Herald and News reported Monday.
Harper, the son of state Sen. Steve Harper, R-Klamath Falls, was duck hunting with a friend, Steven Smith of Klamath Falls, in the Ball Bay area of Upper Klamath Lake on Sunday.
Harper was pulling their boat to shore when Smith's dog triggered the shotgun. Harper was struck in the upper left arm, the Klamath County sheriff's office said.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people....and, okay, sometimes dogs, too.
Did the " hunting " dog have a license?

Two Dawgs
Check your safety.
Guess he shoulda ducked.
I suspect he will lose his arm.
As the owner of a black pointing lab, who I have taken hunting, I can say it is important that we not allow dogs to have guns.
Yes, I am going to speak to my Democratic Congressman and Senators asking for dog control laws.
I am sure the local ducks got a good laugh(or quack) out of that one. Dog will hunt!
Imagine this guy in 20 years explaining what happened to his arm. "We'll.....my dog done shot me!"
Guns don't kill. Dogs do.
Of course, if a human had shot him, then it would have been the gun's fault.
when dogs have guns, only cats will be criminals.
hahaha You really quack me up!
