Now that you've posted it in a thread, they'll be on it like white on rice. That's the problem here. Once a poll is "advertised", the FReeping of polls becomes useless.

The display of the Ten Commandments can be justified as a contribution to the development of our secular law. Moses and the 10 Commandments are depicted on the south frieze of the courtroom at the USSCT. I think it is really a matter of how they are displayed.

Considering the 'historical' relationship between the Ten Commandments and our laws. . .think it very appropriate. . .

Go back and read some of the responses. Some real asswipes on the poll now. Some people gave good reasons for not wanting the commandments. We all have our opinions. There was also a lot of really hateful crap on there from the real terrorists among us, the fifth column.

While Judeo-Christian traditions played a large role in the founding principles of our country, it is important to remember that the founding fathers were Deists and, as such, found appeals to God to be superfluous. For the founding fathers, man controlled his fate. Science and politics were his tools. Secular governments, respecting the beliefs of all, were and are the only governments that can govern effectively.

That is the norm for the intelligentsia from the left who think it's their private forum. They screech and hiss at anything which goes against the communist manifesto. Bookmark the site and check every few days if you can. I get a kick out of reading their drivel :-)

I believe our government respects the beliefs of all, however the ten commandments don't offend anyone but athiests, folks from the ACLU and criminals. I believe in them and people that don't, well, that's OK too. I don't see any harm in displaying them on gubmint property. If people don't wish to read them, don't. BTW, your comment sounds familiar. Ever post to News8 polls?

Austin is the Berzerkly of Texas.

Good point. I keeping forgetting that Austin is the Texas looney pit, because Texas is largely a Republican state.
