Returning after a stint with CNN is the clincher.

Where her boss was terminated for sexual harrassment. No details.

Probably you didn't notice my earlier posts on the thread. I'm not anxious to defend Bill, and I rarely tune him in anymore. I think the most reasonable position to take is that he did at least some of what is alleged.

I also think that it's naive to think that this is something strictly between her and her attorney. There's a Rat agenda which has, at a minimum, piggybacked on her complaint. You can discern that by the political language in her complaint which goes so far as to mention President Bush. She reviewed it before it was filed.

This is more than a sexual harrassment case, and you know it. That doesn't mean that O'Reilly isn't a sexual creep. He might well be, and my belief that she has tapes will prove it.

The establishment of that fact doesn't mean that he committed sexual harrassment for which she's entitled to be compensated. Vague assertions of mental anguish don't cut it when she had an avenue of recourse within the company which she never used.

I think it's reasonable to conclude, on the basis of the facts we know tonight, that her lawsuit is politically motivated, at least primarily.

If Bill O'Reilly is hit by a truck tonight, it won't cause me to grieve too much. I don't like him.

Not convincing without tapes. Does the lawsuit say she has tapes? If she has tapes, and O'Reilly was told he had tapes, and taping someone without their knowledge in New York State is legal, then O'Reilly's dead, and he knows it.

However, if any of the above are lacking, then she's dead, and she knows it, and O'Reilly will crush her.

Rathergate was always going away (in the MSM) - you don't expect them to eat their own, do you?

No, but they sucked the air out by 'setting up an investigation' inorder to get any outcome past the election.

Whether we like O'Reilly or not, his program is (or recently was) the top rated cable news program in prime time.

He is a SYMBOL of Fox News. The DNC is hoping for a domino effect from this...Bill goes down, so will Fox News...

I disagree....if he stays...the left will use him as reason to question Fox's credibility during election coverage. If you remove the target...they must scurry for a new one; for their planned one has been taken off the board.

OMG! LOL! Read the page you suggested post #779. That kind of language doesn't even seem like it fits O'Reilly. Maybe it's his 'Dirty Bill' lingo...hahah!

Dirty Bill? As in Bill Klintoon? He could probably write something like that, come to think of it.

This attack has a purpose. Take him out of the seat for a little while and the purpose of the attack has failed.

That is exactly what they want. They could care less what happens after 11/2. Take him out and every headline would scream for days

FOX TERMINATES O'REILLY OVER SEXUAL HARRASSMENT CHARGES

No talk of Kerry's problems. Only the problems of O'Reilly and the hypocritical compassionate conservatives.

If O'Reilly takes a leave, he just as well admit these charges are true.

He won't leave, and he shouldn't leave.

O'Reilly laid it on Clinton in those days - maybe Clinton will send O'Reilly a box of cigars. If its true, O'Reilly deserves whatever he gets but if this is a big lie - people should go to jail.

"This election is far more important than some turncoat, blow-dried, pompous, moderate wannabe."

I agree, it's what I was trying to convey all along ie., that this junk case is just a distraction brought on by DNC damage control, Carville style. Like a forest fire, start a firewall to keep an existing fire(Bushes popularity) from spreading.

She may have taped in in Los Angeles.
They mention a LA hotel incident.
Oh well, I guess we will find out soon enough.....gotta tune in for the debate.

I agree and Bill is in a tough spot..no doubt...however the true target in all of this seems...(tinfoil hat on) to be Fox. If Bill is gone for a little it will take the target off the air for a while. If he stays and the media drip keeps coming in buckets...it could damage him more and hurt more than just Fox. There is more to all of this than meets the eye. (tinfoil hat off)

It was okay for Clinton. Clinton was not a compassionate conservative. Wrong for O'Reilly. They have already linked him to Bush and compassionate conservatism.

"Oh BTW, is this the person O'Reilly filed suit against for extortion?"

As far as we all know and have read here and heard this Andrea woman and her goon squad were served a lawsuit for their extortion attempt by Fox and O'Reilly.

Yeah, it is creepy. I hope this is BS....because the thought of actually hearing a tape with him saying that makes me cringe.
