Apparently, it's because they don't believe what Messrs. Kerry and Edwards are saying to the American people at this stage in the campaign. Mr. Dean said it best, when asked at the Democratic convention about the similarity between Bush and Kerry positions. His response was, in effect, that no one believes what people say in party conventions to the national audience. The reason the left- leaning supporters of Mr. Kerry continue to support him in spite of the lack of light between his positions and Mr. Bush's positions is the faith they have that Mr. Kerry does not mean what he says, that Mr. Kerry, in order to bring sufficient moderates and swing voters to his ticket, is, in fact misleading America. If Howard Dean, George Soros and the rest of the left core of the Democratic Party, people who know Mr. Kerry best, do not believe him, we probably shouldn't either.

I just switched to Imus rather than listen to Joe Lockhart. Imus is telling Joe Lieberman that he'll vote for Kerry but will be holding his nose to do so. Lieberman is pointing out the good things going on in Iraq. Lieberman says he's voting for Kerry but I have my doubts.
Imus played the tape of Edwards saying people would get out of their wheelchairs and walk again if they are elected twice...Not a good thing..ridicule from Imus..It angered Sid, because he's afraid some poor soul will believe him and be given false hope...
Leiberman even gave a compliment to what Halliburton is accomplishing for our troops in Iraq. Says things are looking up over there.

Had the Democrats nominated Lieberman, for the first time in a very, very, very long time, I might have voted for a Democratic President. Well, maybe not. But, Lieberman would certainly have given me an alternative worth considering.

I thought it was funny. Imus said he would hold his nose and vote for Kerry, and Lieberman said "you're quite a supporter".
So...as my husband has stated all along...will Lieberman and Imus REALLY be voting for Kerry if they have "reservations."

It's one thing to say you're voting for Kerry, we'll see if people follow through on what they've said.
The problem is that the hard core left will vote for him precisely because they know he is lying. He is the 70's radical antiwar candidate through and through. His senate voting record proves this.
His tough talk now is to fool the moderates and undecideds who haven't been paying attention, because he knows that an honest antiwar campaign is a guaranteed loser.
The antiwar left is in on the scam-- their codeword during the primaries was that Kerry is "electable", i.e. he could fool the middle based on his "heroic" Vietnam record. That is why his base is silent when Kerry goes on national television and tries to act tougher than Bush. They know that it is a lie, pandering to the mushy middle.
If not for the swifties, he may well have succeded. Even now, it is going to be close.
I saw a " We need a regime change " bumper sticker on a 500 Mecedes.
I yelled to the guy--if Kerry DOES get in--kiss your Mecedes good bye.
