It's time for George W. Bush to go positive. His recent slippage in the pollsmay indicate that the electorate is geting weary and disgusted with attacks on Kerry, as much as he deserves them. A positive campaign strategy could being with the third debate tomorrow. "W" could say: 1)I've been the president during a most difficult national crisis and things are gone pretty well. Terrorism in the US has been all but wiped out and the fear of a new major attacked has greatly diminished. 2)We've been spetacularly successful in Afghanistan and that the election there on Saturday was nothing short of a political miracle. The faces of the voters waiting in line say it all. 3)The problem with Iraq is that we allowed most of Saddaam's loyalists to survive and that now we are reluctant to go after them aggressively because we want to spare innocent lives. We are waging war in a civilized way that does credit to the humanitarianism of our country and our armed forces. 4)There remain domestic problems in our country but it is remarkable that our citizens now feel safe enough to complain and debate about such issues as prescription drug coverage, the function of tax cuts, and the wisdom of legalizing gay marriages. 5)So stay the course and reelect me. With our courage and our wealth we are going to be OK.
Kerry would have to respond these statements by going more negative thereby running the risk of denying the accomplishments of our troops and sounding like a pessimist. As Ronal Regan taught us, regardless of the facts, Americans hate pessimists.

yay, a troll!
This must be the new mantra, because just today joe lockhart was saying bush can't afford to go negative!
Which means they fear it.
So it's time to pour it on.

I'd like the troll to be zotted by the thread to be left up.
Just to expose the new DNC mantra.
To: flashbunny
I thought I detected a RAT accent, saying phrases like "We are waging war in a civilized way".

from an earlier story:
Kerry spokesman Joe Lockhart said Bush's relentlessly negative attack in the last debate was aimed at solidifying Bush's base among conservative Republicans but had alienated swing voters and independents. "It is hurting him pretty significantly in battleground states," Lockhart said.
Bush spokesman Danny Diaz disputed that analysis. If Bush's approach wasn't working, he said, why would the Democrats have pulled their television ads in Missouri, once touted as a key battleground, and poured resources into Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan - all states that Bush lost in 2000?
"Their playing field is contracting, not expanding," Diaz said.
Matthew Dowd, the Bush campaign's chief strategist, also disputed the claim that Bush has run a more negative campaign than Kerry. "If they feel we're too negative. I can't imagine what they feel about a campaign that calls us liars, that says we've lost people in battle because of oil," Dowd said. "Of the last 27 ads they've run, 23 are negative

Vanities on your first day do not endear you to anyone. Just a thought.

Slippage? Slippage? Is that why W is running even or even slightly ahead now? Positive (along with the DUI dirty trick) almost cost him the electon last time around. I'm sure right after this last debate the well-deserved full-scale assault will begin on Kerry to drive up his negatives from now to Nov. 2nd.

Hmmm, Positive like the Kerry camp has been?
Let's see we have seen a continual drumbeat of hysteric personal attacks against Bush by every DNC directed Mouthpiece and when Bush brings up Kerrys RECORD we are told to "Go Positive"????
Could it be you want Bush to "go positive" because you know that Kerry's record is indefensible?
Gee "Go Positive" when the Rasmussen and ABC/Washington Post polls show that Bush is EXACTLY where he was pre 1st Debate and the "Slipping in the polls" is all a figment of DNC directed Spin Machine that had to jimmy the sample to get a....TIE???
Gee, Go Positive in the face of the Kerry Campaign's who are waging one of the most hated filled, demagogic personal attack driven, divisive campaigns in US History? Go with the "New Tone" against their Hate filled Nazi style propaganda attacks?
Sorry, telling the truth about John Kerry IS a GO POSITIVE Campaign.

It's time for George W. Bush to go positive. -- First words are a lie. W tried to bring civility and comity to Washington four years ago, and was met with a stone wall of vituperation and contempt. He has been the most positive and up-beat President since Ronald Reagan, (Please note spelling..)
...the fear of a new major attacked has greatly diminished.... -- Majors have to take their chances just like all the other ranks.
3)The problem with Iraq is that we allowed most of Saddaam's loyalists to survive ... -- They are just desperate to have W admit to some kind, any kind of error so they can pounce on it.
Kerry would have to respond these statements by going more negative ... -- Kerry went negative in 1971, and hasnt looked back. His calumny of our troops and our President alone should condemn him to an ignoble fate. Oh, thats right, he already is a Senator from Massachusetts.
