To all the doom & gloom freepers who think that a Dishonorable Discharge will not make that much difference, thin about this...
For a Presidential candidate, in the middle of a war, who opened his Convention with "Reporting For Duty" and who has said "I served in Vietnam" about 50 million times, and who has said "I defended this country as a young man and I will defend this country as President".....
For it to come out that he received a Dishonorable Discharge would be devastating to him....PERIOD!

I agree. Obviously so does CBS/Jfkerry campaign as that was the whole motivation of that "fake" document scam, get the public attention away from the SBV.
JFKerry knows darn well moderate democrats are not going to like his real Vietnam story.

It would be devastating... if it ever made the light of day...
And i mean, CNN, ABC, CBS... the resources that the "undecided" turn to. It's not going to do any good if it's just bantered about on talk radio and the Internet, because that's just preaching to the choir.
And forgive me my presumptions, but The NY SUN hardly seems like a source that is worthy of being a credible citation. (No offense to anybody, but I've worked with podunk newspapers, there's a reason why the NY Times, even with it's liberal bias and scandals like Jayson Blair, is known as the Newspaper of Record for the United States, it's because for 200+ years the NYT has a record for maintaining accuracy and responsibility in reporting. This NY Sun has what, a 30 week record of accuracy?)
A new scandal, no matter how important, isn't going to bring in any new voters, unless that scandal is reported by MSM.
It sucks. And I hate to be a wet blanket. But our time is better served registering people to vote than it is hoping for some "October Surprise."

For it to come out that he received a Dishonorable Discharge would be devastating to him....PERIOD! He didn't get a dishonorable discharge. Those are almost unheard of, particularly for Officers, and he would not have been able to cover it up. If he did get something less than an Honorable discharge it would most likely have been a General discharge. In any case, even a General Discharge would throw the election to Bush in every state save the District of Columbia.

I hope and prayer you're right. The lefty media has a way of burying things this important. I barely hear anything about the forged memos anymore unless i'm reading here.

"For it to come out that he received a Dishonorable Discharge"
It's not the crime, it's the coverup
And The seriousness of the charge always trumps the nature of the evidence.
