To: Imperialist
The writer should definitely be investigated, no question, based on the threat.

We have a lot of pipefitters and welders around here in the nuclear industry. Those professional skills don't come easily nor to everyone who applies. I myself learned to weld on a hobby basis but I'm not much of a threat to a city water system!

I too weld as a hobby, autobody shop. I witnessed a hot tap on an 8" water pipe recently by the water company recently, they did spill some water, but not much and managed to graft a threaded valve onto it.

I think this Canadian welder dude is full of hot air (and perhaps Moosehead beer & moosecheese) but he should be raked over some coals to test his metal.
