The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Ramadan terror concerns?
Full Story

ATLANTA (CNN) -- As more than one billion Muslims prepare to celebrate Ramadan, terror experts are mixed about whether the holy month is a tool for recruiting terrorists.

Some terrorism experts and Islamic scholars say Ramadan gives extremists an opportunity to enlist new recruits.

"It's a time which can be exploited by radical clerics to motivate individuals into taking action on the basis they are somehow serving their religion," says terror expert M.J. Gohel.

And analysts see another temptation for terrorists: exploiting the Battle of Badr, a symbolic date in Muslim history, which falls near the U.S. presidential election.

Any idea what's up with Bridgeport CT? I keep hearing things about threats there, along with a prescence of reserves on duty. All I could recall was that fiery accident that burned down 95 months ago....and that there was a DHS alert that same morning for some kind of problem....supposedly the water in the area was being searched. Anyone have any idea?

"We feel that any such attack will create a massive mandate for America, under President Bush, to invade and take the fight against terrorism wherever it may, including potential nuclear responses against Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, Syria and/or Lebanon, in the event any nuclear materials are set off in dirty bomb or atomic reaction inside the United States and it is traced back to origin in any of these 'axis of evil' countries"

Now, what if we determine that the nuke materials originated in Russia? As seems to be the case.

I do believe that they have the nuclear weapons here, ready to be triggered. Maybe we have found some; perhaps not. I do believe they want the nukes to go off simultaneously, and that would involve major coordination.

As for Saudi Arabia, I believe they (AQ) want to oust the current corrupt leaders and take control of that country and its oil- they would not be motivated, IMO, to nuke SA. As for Israel...well...Israel has some awesome nukes of its own. I believe that they (AQ) would wait for Iran to attack Israel.Just another paranoid thought.

If we assume that "they" (people) are here, then you must assume that "they" (their weapons) are here too.

I do.

Unfortunately, I believe AQ has had at least a decade to infiltrate our airlines, industries, and the like. Recall they ranted that they are "among us" and work in some of our most sensitive areas.

from your first link:

"Also sources tell us that from Iraq a lot of nuke making equipments and supplies have been stolen by Al-Qudea. Nuke engineers of Pakistan are ready to provide the brain and knowledge to put together the nuke bomb. Delhi may be a testing ground for Al-Queda."

This statement really troubles me. India has nukes....why would the PakiQaeda's attempt a nuke strike on India?

I am not sure why, but the man was moving forward and backward (not left and right) in his seat as he appeared to be reading.

Jewish people do make bows during prayer, but usually while they are standing up.

It would not surprise me at all if there was an attempt on both Bush and Kerry's lives during the next couple of weeks.

I respectfully disagree. It makes more sense that al Qaeda will let the election unfold. There is enough evidence out there to support the notion that this election will be ugly and contested in the courts with the United States up-to-the-gills in vote fraud. With the potential legal and social chaos that could ensue on Nov. 3rd, I submit that al Qaeda will strike then -- if they do at all.

NTSB takes unusual step to address plane crash
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-10-13-ntsb-crash_x.htm

The National Transportation Safety Board issued a scathing report Wednesday that blamed a fatal plane crash last year near the Bahamas on a small airline's bad maintenance and a series of mistakes by the pilot.(snip)

Diane Parker-Diaz, 33, of Jacksonville, Fla., and her 4-year-old niece, Diante Wayna Parker, drowned after the small propeller plane ditched in the ocean on July 13, 2003, near the Abaco chain of islands in the Bahamas.

Seven other passengers and the pilot bobbed in the water for 90 minutes until they were rescued by the Coast Guard.(snip)

• The pilot, identified in news reports as Hassan Moslemi, 45, of Fort Lauderdale, did not follow proper procedures for flying a plane after an engine failure. As a result, the plane could not maintain enough speed to stay aloft.(snip)

The NTSB found that MOSLEMI HAD FAILED NINE FLIGHT TESTS (emphasis added) with Federal Aviation Administration inspectors before finally passing. He also had been dismissed from a cargo airline because he could not complete his training, investigators found.

***UNREAL! This is nauseating, folks.***

More on this story:

"The pilot failed to immediately brief passengers when the engine quit and he didn't ensure that each had a life jacket. Instead, he waited seven minutes before any communication, and even then only told those on board to "calm down." Six life jackets went unused, and a Jacksonville woman and her niece drowned soon after scrambling from the sinking plane."
