I seen a pic of Gadhan with shorter hair over at Mutters yesterday, and the first thing I thought of was the Jakel pic. I spent quite a bit of time comparing the two. The bridge of the nose is quite a bit wider. I know what you mean about him being familiar.

Hey thanks for digging that one up.

It may have been said before, but after almost 2 years of hiding, seeing him must have given the jihadi's a definite go signal combined with the english speaking terror tape from the other day. Do we have links to that full one yet?

Everyone be on guard, which may be difficult to do considering they are supposedly "within the system" which I've heard many times.

Prayers for us all,

skeggs.

I thought he didn't look too much like Gadhan at first as well. Now I am not so sure.

Did you see this from his past Imam?

I have had this article bookmarked for a long time and supposedly on the first day of their attack they want to detonate 3-4 nukes in major cities then spray a few with smallpox just to create chaos.

You guys be the judge, I'm not sure how to post a url sorry i am a bit computer illiterate but here is the link:

http://www.bibletime.com/bt/tools/reports/AtomBombs/

Very ominous in my opinion if there is any legitimicy to it.

Stay safe all, keep up the good work. I will contribute what I can.

We have surprisingly little from that tape as far as I know. I have seen a total of about 1-2 minutes of clips from it and we know it was 75 minutes long. One has to wonder what is on the other 73-74 minutes.

Yes, it is. It almost appears to me that TPTB have decided that they really can't do much - recall once they said they could only be re-active, not proactive?

Just an example- image TPTB know that there are vehicles full of toxic chemicals/small nuke- being moved around the country. Or trucks full of chems/explosives hidden in warehouses. Or small planes -crop duster type- filled with toxins. Problem? No matter how hard they search, they can't locate all of the threats. It is an impossible task.

To tell people a horrific attack is imminent would create panic. Even if they could figure out where and when the attack was planned, there would simply be no way to evacuate many of our larger cities.

So I'm guessing they feel raising the alert level will not help.

I'm also curious of how much the video wasn't shown by Al Jazeera...."

IMHO, no matter what happens, Dubja will do the right thing.

He must be terribly anxious as the election approaches- and these threats come in...

What do you think he would do if several of our cities were eliminated by nukes?

NRO: Unedited Osama Tape Includes Threats Against Bush Family
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1262833/posts

---

MORE TALES OF THE TAPE [Jim Robbins]
Stories circulated today that the new OBL video was much less bipartisan than at first believed, and that unedited versions of the tape included threats against the Bush family and several Cabinet members. This morning Al Jazeera posted what it claimed was a complete transcript of the video which apart from looking too short to be 18 minutes also had nothing that was not already aired. One interesting side note -- the text of the translation was based on the subtitles in the original video. The transcript does not include the final few sentences in which bin Laden mentions John Kerry. Nor does bin Laden anywhere mention Iraq. He does apparently say that this is the fourth year of the war, but everything else he says deals with the causes of the conflict. Is this a new tape or not?

Hello, my friend. :)
Yes, I must be a masochist because this is not too fun. In the long run it will be worth it. I just have to keep telling myself that. :)

Yep, I miss my old group of buddies from the early days of TM. Oh well, no use crying over times past. Take care of yourself.

Bin Laden Tape Puts Pakistan in Quandary
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/world/10057111.htm?1c

...excerpt...

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - The envelope containing terror mastermind Osama bin Laden's latest message to the world was dropped into a letter box in an upscale neighborhood of the Pakistani capital, the second purported al-Qaida video to come out of this nation in little over a week.

Officials cautioned on Saturday that the tape's release to the Arabic television channel Al-Jazeera's Islamabad office does not prove that bin Laden is in Pakistan. But its appearance was nonetheless an embarrassment to a nation that bills itself as a key ally in Washington's war on terror, and that has spent months focusing its troops on a swath of tribal communities along the Afghan-Pakistan border where the fugitive al-Qaida leader has reputedly been hiding.

Ahmad Muaffaq Zaidan, Al-Jazeera's bureau chief in Pakistan, said the tape was dropped off at the gate of the station's office Friday, just hours before it aired.

"The guard brought it to me along with other mail. It was in an envelope, I opened it and it was a big scoop," Zaidan told The Associated Press. Zaidan immediately sent the tape to Al-Jazeera's headquarters in the Gulf nation of Qatar.

Pakistan has sent tens of thousands of troops to the long and porous border with Afghanistan, concentrating on forbidding North and South Waziristan, where bin Laden and his top deputy, Egyptian surgeon Ayman al-Zawahri, are both believed to be hiding.

Scores of soldiers and civilians have been killed, but the operations so far have not netted any major fugitives, leading to charges that the sweeps are conducted as a political show to curry favor with Washington, which has given Islamabad billions of dollars in aid since President Gen. Pervez Musharraf threw his support behind the anti-terror effort.

Al-Jazeera defends airing bin Laden tape
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/10/31/1099028271723.html?oneclick=true

Al-Jazeera television, facing fresh US criticism for airing a new message by al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, defended its decision to show the tape, saying it was news any media would have jumped on.

"We don't believe anyone can argue about the newsworthiness of this latest Osama bin Laden recording. Any news organisation would have aired the tape if they had received it," al-Jazeera spokesman Jihad Ballout said.

A US State Department official said Washington had asked Qatar's government to prevent the Arabic broadcaster airing the tape, but al-Jazeera refused.

Government officials in US ally Qatar, which hosts the leading Arabic satellite channel, were not immediately available to comment. Al-Jazeera says it received the tape on Friday.

In Washington, a US official said there is text at the start of the tape attributing the production of the tape to al-Shahab media production and that text has a date of 10 Ramadan, which was last Sunday. The tape also has English subtitles, the official said on condition of anonymity.

US officials accuse the channel, which is popular among millions of Arab viewers, of being inaccurate and biased in its reporting of US policies towards Arabs and Muslims.

Speaking four days before the US presidential election, Bin Laden appeared in the first videotape seen in more than a year, deriding US President George W Bush and raising the possibility of new September 11-style attacks.

Al-Jazeera said it received the latest videotaped message at its offices in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.

The tape was dropped off at the gate of the station's office in an envelope yesterday, just hours before it aired, said Ahmad Muaffaq Zaidan, Al-Jazeera's bureau chief in Pakistan.

"We received it in Pakistan. ... Somebody dropped it yesterday at the gate," Zaidan told The Associated Press. "The guard brought it to me along with other mail. It was in an envelope, I opened it and it was a big scoop."

Zaidan said he immediately transmitted the tape to Al-Jazeera's headquarters in the Gulf nation of Qatar.

Bin Laden and his top deputy, Egyptian surgeon Ayman al-Zawahri, are both believed to be hiding in the mountains that straddle the Afghan-Pakistan border, although there has been no hard evidence of their whereabouts for more than three years.

Zaidan said the fact the tape was received by the station in Pakistan did not necessarily mean that bin Laden and al-Zawahri were in the area.

"It is very difficult to judge," Zaidan said.

Pakistani Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao said authorities have no information about who might have given the network the tape, but he stuck to Pakistan's position that there was no proof bin Laden is in the country.

"We have no idea where they got it," he told AP. "I don't think he is in Pakistan."

Maj Gen Shaukat Hussain, the army spokesman, also said he doubted bin Laden was in the country, pointing to intense efforts by the Pakistani military to hunt down al-Qaeda fugitives in the tribal regions of North and South Waziristan, along the border with Afghanistan.

"Even if the tape was dropped here, that doesn't mean that he is here," Hussain said. "Nobody knows where he is, but he cannot be in Pakistan's tribal areas because of the presence of so many troops."

In Afghanistan, the US military dismissed the videotape as "propaganda", and insisted bin Laden would be caught.

"Although we don't have a timeframe for when bin Laden will be captured, we have full confidence that he will be," US military spokesman Maj Scott Nelson told reporters.

While Pakistan's army has been active in the tribal belt near the border, some have questioned its resolve, noting it allowed an Uzbek terror leader to escape after purportedly surrounding him earlier this year.

Talat Massood, a defence analyst and former Pakistani general, said bin Laden was likely in the sprawling port city of Karachi or the rugged tribal belt between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Wherever he is, Massood said, the emergence of the tape shows bin Laden feels pretty secure. In the video, the Saudi millionaire looks to be in surprisingly good health, considering speculation that he has been holed up in a mountain cave for three years, Massood said.

ABC News also received a purported al-Qaeda tape in Pakistan in recent days, this one showing a shrouded man claiming to be an American member of the terror network who threatened more attacks and said US streets would "run red with blood".

Intelligence officials, however, have not been able to verify the tape's authenticity, and officials do not have information linking the video to a specific threat, said an intelligence official, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

They also have not been able to positively identify the speaker.

Both the bin Laden video and the one aired by ABC News carried banners attributing them to the Sahab Production Committee, a purported al-Qaeda propaganda company.

Hey No problem. I got very tired of lurking but was afraid my small opinion would not count with all of you great thinkers.

It is a very scary link if taken to heart, and in my opinion details their master goal for wanting to see the demise of America. Not good at all. I am nervous, thank god I have a *zepam from my doctor but is it just me or does anybody else have that "any second now" feeling with them?

Glad to be here, I will contribute what I can. Thanks for the warm welcome,

Stay safe.

They are taking a serious gamble not rasing the level IMHO. Why do I get the feeling they aren't gonna rasie it cause if Bush wins the left will blame it on the terror level being rasied & scaring the public into voting for Bush.

I think you are exactly right. It just hit me that the President is backed into a really bad corner. Bush won't raise the threat level for exactly that reason. But if there is a large attack in the next few days Bush could be screwed because the LLL/MSM will scream that Bush knew and did nothing to protect us. That would be enough to throw the election to Kerry. I pray to God that scenario doesn't play out, but if I were a terrorist and wanted to get rid of Bush, that's exactly the way I would play it.

Federal bulletin urges increased vigilance in wake of bin Laden tape
http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/breaking/103004binladen_security.html

WASHINGTON - Acting on the release of a new videotape from Osama bin Laden, the government has alerted state and local authorities to be extra vigilant ahead of Tuesday's elections.

The bulletin said the bin Laden tape and a second video from last week that showed a self-proclaimed American member of al-Qaida are "clearly intended to influence and instill fear in the American people."

"We remain concerned about al-Qaida's interest in attacking the American homeland, and we cannot discount the possibility that the video may be intended to promote violence or serve as a signal for an attack," according to the bulletin sent late Friday from the FBI and the Homeland Security Department.

It went to homeland security advisers, state and local police and select members of private industry.

The bulletin said intelligence agencies continue to analyze the tapes.

A U.S. government official said steps have been taken to secure the public and that homeland security officials have been urged to keep vigilant.

President Bush on Saturday directed his national security aides to take any necessary steps in response to the bin Laden tape.

Bush held a videoconference call with national security adviser Condoleezza Rice and the heads of the CIA, FBI and departments of Justice and Homeland Security.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president directed them to make sure any necessary action is taken with regard to the tape.

McClellan did not say what steps were being taken or contemplated. He played down the possibility of the administration raising the threat advisory level, currently at "yellow," or elevated, for most of the country.

Also Saturday, several hundred homeland security officials and some police chiefs held a conference call to discuss the tapes. Security at polling places on Tuesday was among the concerns and questions they raised.

In the video, bin Laden acknowledged for the first time directly that he ordered the Sept. 11 attacks and said he did so because of injustices against the Lebanese and Palestinians by Israel and the United States.

He said the United States must stop threatening the security of Muslims if it wants to avoid "another Manhattan" and while he did not directly warn of new attacks, he warned: "There are still reasons to repeat what happened."

"Your security is not in the hands of Kerry, Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands," bin Laden said, referring to the president and his Democratic opponent, John Kerry. "Any state that does not mess with our security has naturally guaranteed its own security."

The television network Al-Jazeera received the 18-minute videotape at its offices in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, where "somebody dropped it yesterday at the gate," Ahmad Muaffaq Zaidan, the Pakistan bureau chief, said Saturday.

In a taped aired Thursday by ABC News, a shrouded man claiming to be an American member of al-Qaida promised attacks that will make U.S. streets "run red with blood."

In the 75-minute message, the speaker who identifies himself as "Azzam the American" praised the Sept. 11 attacks, called Osama bin Laden and his deputy his leaders, and said a new wave of attacks could come at any moment.

"Stability For Tragic Kosovo"

By Paul M. Weyrich
October 29, 2004

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The Serbian population is the minority. They are predominantly Christian and face persecution from an energized Albanian majority. Right after a wave of violence shook the country in March, Damjan de Krnjevic-Miskovic, then the Managing Editor of The National Interest and a Senior Fellow of the Institute on Religion and Public Policy wrote in National Review Online the article "Kristallnacht in Kosovo." In it he stated “…Kosovo's Serbs have for years been warning of the real nature of Albanian nationalism, and the U.N. and the West have assumed they were exaggerating."
