The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

ATLANTA (CNN) -- As more than one billion Muslims prepare to celebrate Ramadan, terror experts are mixed about whether the holy month is a tool for recruiting terrorists.

Some terrorism experts and Islamic scholars say Ramadan gives extremists an opportunity to enlist new recruits.

"It's a time which can be exploited by radical clerics to motivate individuals into taking action on the basis they are somehow serving their religion," says terror expert M.J. Gohel.

And analysts see another temptation for terrorists: exploiting the Battle of Badr, a symbolic date in Muslim history, which falls near the U.S. presidential election.

This is frustrating, not knowing what the heck is going on nor why. I am praying we get some sunshine and clarity at this point.

I cannot think of any good reason why abc would withhold from the authorities a portion of any alleged al qaeda or other terrorist communication. On one hand such an act is treason, on the other hand, they are preventing authorities from doing their analyses. Either way, it stinks.

Well, since it is now scheduled to air w/ the ABC evening news, we may soon see.

I cannot think of any good reason why abc would withhold from the authorities a portion of any alleged al qaeda or other terrorist communication. On one hand such an act is treason, on the other hand, they are preventing authorities from doing their analyses. Either way, it stinks.

I have been giving them credit for confering with the Feds prior to any release. However, the missing 15 minutes is disconcerting and I'm sure that the Feds are giving them some serious talking to. Why they would do it is unknown and could even be a mistake in dubbing the tape - inadvertant and innocent. The other two options you give are real and I hope for better from ABC, even if they are MSM.

Perhaps he also speaks another language. I think that is what some authorities have speculated.

quite possibly because it is implying that some twisted democrat made the tape to scare people out of voting for bush, and ABC did not want the gov to figure this out?... something smellls fishy to me, and im beginging to doubt this tape as credible.

I can't believe I had to sit through 15 minutes of ABC news to see 1 minute of video clips...

The production looked much like the other as Sahab videos I have seen. I'm not sure why they say this guys second language is American, it didn't seem like he had a very thick accent.
