Closest nuclear facility is Indian Point. Far by car, but not as the crow flies (or plane).
However, I could think of alot of better, more out of the way, airports to use than this one.
Now what country was this in? :O)
It is getting a little scary.
For what its worth:
October 13, 2004:
Modifies RED Alert! ACSA spokesperson Dr. Milton Abrahamson commented: "We are seeing a vast number of informational releases by Al Qaeda in the form of Pakistan's confiscation of disks, leaked information given to American Intel sources, such as the CIA, and the creating of an overwhelming 'countermeasure of confusion' about which target or targets it actually intends to hit. Meanwhile, we believe we have triggered a 'suspend the action' mechanism with our releasing of information about the potential for attack at different times and for different 'al Qaedish' reasons this past week, they are sizing us up to determine whether we just got lucky, or actually can monitor them (we can). At this time, we are heading into a 3 week, 21 day countdown to the US Elections, with everyone taking bets. One member of Congress closed his DC office altogether this week and headed for home, fearing an attack there. We believe that no matter how devastating an attack may be in the works, the only consequence that is certain, now that we are within 3 weeks of the election, is that any attack by AL QAEDA will trigger a harmonious American Solidarity backlash against it, simply insuring President Bush's re-election, which seems to be assured at this moment anyway. We feel that any such attack will create a massive mandate for America, under President Bush, to invade and take the fight against terrorism wherever it may, including potential nuclear responses against Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, Syria and/or Lebanon, in the event any nuclear materials are set off in dirty bomb or atomic reaction inside the United States and it is traced back to origin in any of these 'axis of evil' countries. Furthermore, we would expect massive arrests of anyone from these countries inside of the USA, mass deportations, and total disruption of commerce with these countries (to the extent any exists), likely American Military Embargo picket lines set in place around each country, and retaliatory economic responses to any eastern, Asian or central European Nation who gave them aid in time of the event. It also seems likely that the USA would dismiss all United Nations personnel from the USA, and close down all further UN operations. Our analysis has ascertained that the anger from the USA at the perfidy of such an attack would likely trigger so violent a reaction from America at this point, it seems very unlikely any nations harboring the attackers would survive at all, they'd be laid waste. Clearly America is at that point called 'the nexus of patience and losing it's patience'. When it comes down to this, every other nation of the world had best be on it's best behavior to help catch any Al Qaedans headed our way, or be prepared to pay the price for betraying the US. For the US is at the point of losing it's patience. This is the degree of anger here, 85% of America, that's some 240 million Americans, are wound tighter and angrier than a coiled titanium spring. Woe be the country who assists or knowingly fails to halt an Al Qaeda attack on America any time soon."

I think they need two Woe, Woe's
Glad you added the cavat. Not sure how to evaluate their predictions or analysis. They are sounding, after some aspects, like the jihadi's are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Their 'predicted' attack on Oct 6 & 7 fell far short of what they said would happen, even though it devistating for Israeli tourists. And their Oct 12 date also fell throught. Worth monitoring to a degree, however must use plenty of common sense when reading these.
Now this is interesting.

India on terror alert for AQ nuke attack.
IMHO, this article should read:
Entire world on terror alert for AQ nuke attack.
Whats to say that these animals haven't smuggled Nuke material into our country?
acsa is just trying to tie the info together just like the rest of us.
hey
placemark
KRCG Channel 13 News out of Jefferson City, MO is reporting that FBI has raided the Islamic Relief Agency in Columbia, MO. They are carrying out several boxes and have approx. 30 agents involved.
Thats the BIG question isn't it. But then the first question that needs to be answered is do they have one to begin with? That is problematical, although there has been an abundance of rumors that the KGB, Russian Mafia or Chechen rebels (take your pick of the source) have stolen them and sold them to AQ. This is an old story with no hard facts other than rumors. The second question is why haven't AQ used them against Israel or the Saudi monarchy? Both of these targets were higher in their priority prior to 9/11. Finally, if they have one, it probably wouldn't be too hard to smuggle it in some how. However, what are they waiting for? Our internal security is plenty porous enough to allow a cargo truck with a 10kt device to go just about any where in the country unrestricted.
Signing off for the evening....Safe Safe everyone.
See ya tomorrow.....
MILAN, Tenn. (AP) A thunderous explosion tore through a storage building at an Army ammunition plant Wednesday, causing at least one serious injury and creating a blast that could be heard for miles. Two people were reported missing.
Mayor George Killebrew said one person was airlifted to a hospital, while authorities searched for two others caught in the explosion at the Milan Army Ammunition plant. The cause was not immediately determined, but FBI agent George Bolds had been told by authorities that the blast appeared to be an accident.
As far as we know, they were moving some barrels of some sort of volatile material and one of the barrels flashed, Bolds said.
Killebrew said the storage building housed ammunition and was located in an isolated area of the plant. Three to four people typically work there at a time, he said.
He said the explosion would be difficult for family members of workers at the plant, but added that when we have the arsenal here, its something were always cognizant that could happen.
Darrell Rinks, shop foreman at the Gibson County Highway Department, heard the explosion at his workplace some 15 miles away.
The plant, established during World War II, makes medium-caliber ammunition for the Army and employs about 600 workers. Milan, a town of about 7,500 people, is about 90 miles northeast of Memphis.
The plant got an $11 million contract in 2003 to load, assemble and pack cartridges used in grenade machine guns.
I have not doubt about that and I am keeping an open mind. Just that the tenor of this recent post is making me wonder a little.
hey there. ;)
Good to know, thank you.
bump to that
What a fascinating read! I especially liked the last line:
>>"..Woe be the country who assists or knowingly fails to halt an Al Qaeda attack on America any time soon."
Prayers for the workers.
Is it coincidence that this town is named "Milan"?
