GO SOX!!!
Question from my husband (FReeper "zelig")... do either of you know anything about any Red Sox Nation forums/chat rooms? Thanks in advance.
Now I know you're a Mets fan, but are you really a SOX fan? :-)
Weird. I can understand chowderheads wearing shirts that proclaim their hatred for the Yanks, but for them to wear shirts suggesting the Yanks aren't a good baseball team is akin to the French wearing "Americans are wimps" attire.
The day I root for the Yank-offs is the day I kiss Mark Morford and register as a Democrat.
They complained mostly because of the double standard (they didn't offer "edgy" Red Sox gear). Some thought the MLB policy of only selling non-edgy merchandise was a good one and to leave the other stuff to vendors outside the ballpark.
You're the one who needs to "get real." You literally refer to the Yankees as being Nazis, and you completely ignore the fact that the only political donations made by Yankees have been to W, while the only political donations made by Red Sox have been to Kerry. And I didn't see the Yankees inviting Kerry to throw out the first pitch at any of their games, or giving him high fives the way your team did. But you'll keep on hoping against all hope that the Yankees secretly support Kerry, even though you can't even name one player who does!
mlb.com has one.
Blow it out your pinstriped bottom....
To update a classic line: Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Teresa.
i am still not offended by it who cares what MLB does. I think Pedro should be bitchslapped still for making the comment.
I'll happily jump aboard the Red Sox bandwagon again. :-)
Kets not forget the WNBA champioship starts at nine. Man do I wish I had picture in picture TV
Years and decades from now, in the dead of a cold New England winter, one Boston fan will look up from his chowder and, apropos of nothing, shake his head and say quietly, "I can't believe Grady left Pedro in." And the all other members of Red Sox nation present will immediately know exactly what is being said and they will bow their heads in silence, as if mourning the loss of a loved one.

Gimme a break. You made all sorts of wild assertions on here, I rightfully smacked you down for your factual inaccuracies, but you've got nothing better to say than insults. Typical bitter Yankee-hater, who thinks the height of wit is to whine, "Yankees suck"! Enjoy rooting for John Kerry's favorite team.
Considering the Red Sox's donations and adoration for John Kerry, you might want to rethink that line.
Yes, but at least it would shut Hillary up about the Yankees! Come to think of it, she's been rather quiet about them since her Senate campaign when she announced that she had secretly been a lifelong Yankees fan, even as a child near Chicago..... say, why can't we put Hillary together with John "Hanoi" Kerry in a small rowboat in the middle of the Atlantic and let them jabber at each other about their great baseball loyalties....????
Now that's the funniest line of the night so far!
I am glad you caught the sarcasm. after I posted it I wondered if anybody would think I was serious.
Pre-game coverage on NESN now. Geez, the stands at Yankee Stadium look pretty empty... if we could go to this game, we'd take the day off and be there as soon as the doors open for batting practice!
