Jimmy Carter "Clarifies" His Position on Abortion
Texas Baptist Standard | 09-20-04 | Carter, Jimmy

Posted on 10/12/2004 7:04:03 AM PDT by Theodore R.

Carter wrote to the Texas Baptist newspaper:

"In your Aug. 23 issue and at other timnes, I have noticed an incorrect description of my belief concerning abortion.

"As a Christian, I have never believed that Jesus Christ would approve abortions except, perhaps, to save the life of the mother.

So is GA Jimmy converting to "pro-life." I don't think so. He is saying that his "Christian" views oppose abortion, but he would not seek to legislate his views on an unwilling public. Yet Carter has had no hesitancy to legislate his peculiar "secular" views on an often unwilling public.

Isn't this like stating "I'm against armed robbery, but if others want to commit armed robbery, well, that's their right."

I do not think Carter is sincere. At all.

But I will note that he has taken rape off the table as an excuse. He has taken incest off the table as an excuse. All he has left is health.

There were 1.3 million abortions last year. How many were done for legitimate reasons of the mother's health? And let's not forget that every such procedure, done to protect the health of one human, resulted in the death of another human being.

I find no grounds to justify any abortion. Not one. Sounds like Carter is 99% there as well.

Only, he's lying about it.

Boy! Do you ever have that right. He should stick to havesting peanuts and hammering nails. Just like Clintoon, he is still searching for a legacy he can be proud of. Which is a impossibility, also like Clinton.

Well, didn't 40 million people vote for GA Jimmy at least once, and many still have a soft spot in their hearts for him???

It seems that I read in the past month that the once revered GA Jimmy referred to HIMSELF as "a great President." The claim was so preposterous that I have forgotten the details.

"As a Christian, I have never believed that Jesus Christ would approve abortions except, perhaps, to save the life of the mother.

Anyone believe that Jesus would approve of ANY abortion of a living baby? I don't think so.

What a cop-out. Truth of the matter is - any REAL Christian is against ANY abortion by any means for any reason.

I would like to "clarify" my position on Jimmy Carter: even though he is a former President of the United States and I really should try to respect him for the mere sake of the esteem I hold for that office, he is still a complete jack-@$$.

Sounds like Carter is 99% there as well.

If he believes its not his business to appose it, he is 0%.

People who will not do anything about it condone it by their actions. That makes them more guilty.

Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.

Many have a hard time admitting that they voted for a candidate who was an utter failure in office. People don't like to admit that they MIGHT be wrong, even when the evidence is overwhelming.
