Federal health benefit boon

I am pleased with the exciting additions to the 2005 Federal Employee Health Benefit program. Next year, the federal work force get 249 health-plan options, including high-deductible health plans with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). HSAs, made possible by the Medicare Improvement Act signed by President Bush last December, combine a health insurance policy for large medical expenses with an investment account from which money can be withdrawn tax-free for routine medical care. Since unveiling of the new Web site, www.opm.gov/ hsa, there have been more than 40,000 visits to the site and more than 6,000 employees have registered for advance information updates on HSAs.

Isn't it wonderful how our bureaucratical government workers continue to have their taxpaid benefits increased while the common man is out here struggling to keep health care coverage for his family.

IMHO Health Care is going to soon become the number one issue that we are going to have to deal with above and beyond terrorism, the economy, etc. When people, when loved ones start dying for lack of coverage, for lack of their ability to secure life extending medications ... when citizens en masse are bankrupted trying to accuire what a few have access to because of financial advantages ... then there will be a revolt and it will cost our party dearly.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW ... as a self-employed small business owner I pay almost $1200.00 a month for major medical coverage for my wife, my three girls and myself. A $2000.00 deductable with no drug card, no co-pay office visits, no nothing except coverage for catostrophic major medical problems.

We've got to address this and find a solution. If government workers can be covered, then so can the average citizen for a fair price.

If the liberal experiment advances much further, everyone will work for (or be dependent on) the government. Then, everyone can get Cadillac benefits and we wont need a private sector. Right?

Vote for Kerry. After all he PROMISED EVERYONE the same wonderful health care as Federal employees get, and it will only require raping the top 2% of tax payers. /sarcasm

Don't tell me to vote for that scumbag Kerry just because I want our health care system fixed. How frickin' dare you. I want my man Bush and my RNC to figure this out and fix things rather than allowing this to be a DNC issue. You mark my words, Hillary is going to play this to the hilt unless we are prepared. I take offense at your suggestion that I vote for Kerry simply because I demand my party accept the fact that this problem is growing and we are likely to lose voters in the next election if we allow this trend to continue.
