The article doesn't say whether she was impressed.

Damn. Impressing the wife is this simple?
Man, have I been wasting my time showing her how much I love her, making her breakfast every Saturday & Sunday, helping her raise our children, working hard so she ha a new house and new car, watching sappy old movies, buying her flowers, taking her out to dinner now and then.
And here all I have to do is stage a robbery every so often. Sheesh what a sucker I am.

"According to police, Spencer, a high school teacher, paid two students $100 each to break into his house and try to make off with a stereo"
Let's not be so hard on this guy...he is brighter than the average high school teacher to come up with this scheme.

"According to police, Spencer, a high school teacher, paid two students $100 each to break into his house and try to make off with a stereo." I bet he could have spent that 200 on a nice meal out, a chick flick,a few hiden wrapped gifts, and a box of chocolate with better results.
What a fake.

Hey now, I had plenty of teachers were smart enough to do this.....some of them might have even been smart enough not to get caught!
What kills me is, did the man, on a teacher's salary, really have $200 to spend on the fiasco?

Trying to impress his wife?
I guess she got wise to the 'salami in the pants' trick.

Nothing impresses my wife more than when I hire teenagers to duct tape her to the bed.
For a really special occassion, I'll hire a pit bull to lunge at her throat.

I bet he could have spent that 200 on a nice meal out, a chick flick,a few hiden wrapped gifts, and a box of chocolate with better results. Are you suggesting educators could spend the money they already have more efficiently and get better results?
Those are fightin' words in some parts.

Wife beware, this guy's next move may be to enroll in the U. North Carolina medical school.

Nothing says love like a little burglary and being bound and having duct tape across your mouth.

Just to add to the story a little.... the wife was / is contemplating divorce. They were living in seperate residences at the time of the "event". He was trying to "win back her affections".
My wife is a teacher and one of the counselors at her school is the mother of the man involved in the event. The mother is VERY embarassed.
I know... there are a ton of counseling jokes available there.
