Wishful thinking I'm afraid. There are legitimate issues regarding the far lefts association with antisemitic and terrorist interests, I don't think kerry.com banning antisemites is much of an issue.
How can we have gotten to this many posts without someone noticing that it took complaints to stop this and that prior to that, hate was perfectly OK
The Left in their own words -- Hate is OK until we get too many complaints!!!!
This should be sent to all the MSM so they can try to ignore it.
It is still OK. They just don't want bad publicity.
"The only anti-Isreal posts you see on conservative sites are those posted by liberals."
""Wishful thinking I'm afraid. There are legitimate issues regarding the far lefts association with antisemitic and terrorist interests, I don't think kerry.com banning antisemites is much of an issue""
The issue is the fact that so many of the posters on johnkerry.com are anti semites. It is reflective of the hard left core of the democratic party. That core makes up at least 30-40% of the people who will be voting for Kerry.
What I can't understand is how Jews, knowing that fact, can still support him?
Exactly. They are simply trying to hide their hard left views befor mainstream America catches on!
This isn't a suprise by the informed.
Check out DU and you'll see clearly that the main reason they oppose the Iraq war is because we have our military there to protect Israel.
The Jews are not a solid block, they are different individuals. Don't they reflect the general distribution of opinions throughout the American society. Almost 50% of the populace genuinely oppose Bush' effort in fighting the terrorism. Kind of deathwish as well, hah? However, I agree that the deathwish amongst the Jews is disproportionately higher. But hasn't that been the case throughout the Jewish people history. I don't remember the exact wording: how long will these hardnecked people annoy me (meaning the Israelites, which includes me).
No, with that I emphatically disagree. That 90% of blacks voted for Gore, I do agree, is (almost) equally misguided; they (as a bloc), have yet to understand where their true interests lie.
But for blacks, I can at least understand what they are thinking!! For Jews, I have yet to see an explanation that I find even remotely understandable, including but not limited to the explanations in this thread. I don't suggest that nobody has spoken the truth, only that if they have, I honestly cannot believe it-- to me, it just makes no sense at all.
Suppose, (just suppose), that the Democrats welcomed Hamas/Hezbollah/etc into their ranks, and Jews continued to overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Who could expect me to "understand" the explanation for such voting behaviour, no matter how reasonable that "explanation" seemed? After considering that point, reflect on the question of how far from reality that mind experiment is, after all.
You would think that in the case of the Jews an even higher portion would be supportive of the president and the war on terror. After all one would think that there is a shared interest between Israel and America in this regard.
I simply can't explain why this isn't the case. I guess maybe we are hardnecked.
"Jews cannot support Republicans because they view them mostly as Evangelical Christians who hijacked their Messiah and Torah.""
Haaaaaa, haaaa, haaaaa!!
Well, that's a first for me. 'Jacked the Messiah. Last time I checked the Jewish and Christian Conservative communities still respectfully disagree on the identity of the Messiah, and the Jews are still in ownership of the Torah.

Thanks for the ping. Interesting post!
I joined DU a while back just to see what they were up to. Interesting that a DUer can choose a star of David avatar and rail against Israel; likewise, a member can choose a cross as an avatar and applaud the ACLU when they attack Christian symbols.
I don't last long at liberal forums because I enjoy pointing out the contradictions to leftist who support Palestine AND equality for gays. The following article got me zapped from one liberal forum:
Members of the gay direct-action group OutRage! and the Queer Youth Alliance took part in a London demonstration urging greater respect for human rights in Palestine May 15. They also carried signs urging the Palestinian Authority to stop arresting and torturing homosexuals, which led to friction with other demonstrators.
When they arrived in Trafalgar Square to join the protest, the gay activists were surrounded by Islamic fundamentalists, Anglican priests and members of the
Socialist Workers Party, the Stop the War Coalition and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign who called them racists, Zionists and CIA and MI5 agents, said
OutRage!s Peter Tatchell.
He said the protest organizers told the gay group to move to the rear of the demonstration and, when they refused, the organizers blocked the gays placards and shouted down their interviews with reporters.
We call on the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority to condemn homophobia, uphold queer human rights and to order an immediate end to the abuse of lesbian and gay Palestinians, said OutRage!s Brett Lock.
Gay Palestinians, said Tatchell, live in fear of arrest, detention without trial, torture and execution at the hands of Palestinian police and security services.
They also risk abduction and so-called honor killing by vengeful family members and vigilante mobs, as well as punishment beatings and murder by Palestinian
political groups such as Hamas and Yasser Arafats Fatah movement.
For over 30 years I have supported the Palestinian struggle for national liberation, Tatchell said, but I cannot remain silent while the PLO, Hamas and the Palestinian Authority are abducting, brutalizing and murdering lesbian and gay Palestinians.

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Thank you for that great commentary. As a former Democrat I can tell you of so many instances when I've heard so-called tolerant people on the left spout anti-semitic and anti-Israel sentiments. Anti-semitism runs rampant in the Democratic Party, and like many on this board I couldn't tell you why American Jews still support them overwhelmingly. Pat Buchanan is accused of being anti-semitic because of his remarks against Israel, but nothing is said when the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world utter anti-semitic remarks. There's also, I believe, a Democratic congressman Moran from Virginia who voices anti-Israel remarks from time to time. Jews in the United States may not want to admit it, but their strongest allies and supporters lie in the Evangelical Christian community, and not the Democratic Party.
