Bay Area Republicans: A Mostly Silent Minority
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 10/11/4 | Jennifer Nelson

Posted on 10/11/2004 7:44:54 AM PDT by SmithL

I can't wait for November 3. Not only will all of the political commercials on television cease, but I'll be celebrating another four years of Bush-Cheney leaders in the White House. I'll also be faced with another four years of whining from my fellow Bay Area residents.

The level of hatred Bay Area liberals feel for President George W. Bush is unprecedented. While conservatives were angry about President Bill Clinton's sexual antics in our White House, but nothing compares with how much liberals loathe Bush.

Just drive around the Bay Area and read bumper stickers if you want a sense of how over-the-top some people's anger is toward Bush. How else do you account for the "Bush/Satan 2004" and "Dubya Stands for Whore" bumper stickers? And the liberals scream that Rush Limbaugh is hateful? Calling John Edwards the Breck Girl just doesn't compare to the level of hate folks around here express towards Bush.

Why do liberals hate President Bush so much? He possess those things to which liberal cannot have and denounce out of prejudice.

HONOR
INTEGRITY
DECENCY
CHARACTER
CLASS
DIGNITY
LEADERSHIP
FAITH
and an undeniable KNOWLEDGE that GOD is there when we NEED him.

Liberals are quick to use vulgarities and make cheap shots. Conservatives tend to refrain from profanity and argue off the facts. Sure, you can say that is way-overgeneralized, but I have seen way too many liberal posts that are vulgar and cheap, and the profanities invariably start to creep in from the Left. It's a simple fact of life, from my years of observing discussions on the Internet and elsewhere.

"...but nothing compares with how much liberals loathe Bush"

The Democrats were in the WH for 8 years. If they had it their way, there would only be ONE party in this country. To listen to them, the Conservative voice must never be heard in this country. I guess 8 years of lunacy was not enough for them.

From the article:

She assured me that we would not be bombed, because the terrorists knew that we in the Bay Area were "open-minded and tolerant."

The Islamofascists hate the degenerate American left more than any other element of our society and bin Laden has said so.

What an idiot.

They hate Bush partially because he is a leader that tells them there is right and wrong. An authority figure like a policeman, teacher or father. They loved Clinton because he was not judgmental and everything was ok, like the teenage babysitter that lets the kids stay up late while necking with the boyfriend, or the substitute teacher that lets them break all the rules. I think a great deal of the extreme left is lost, broken and simply in a perpetual state of adolescence that refuses to grow up and in constant state of rebellion.

I haven't seen those bumper stickers here in the east bay. What I do see many of are the "Defend America - Defeat Bush" and "Re-defeat Bush" stickers. Lots of 'em. Last week I saw one that said "Save a Tree - Remove a Bush" and "Visual One Term - Lick Bush" on the same muddy 4x4 pickup.

Bay Area were "open-minded and tolerant."

BAAHAHAHAHHAAHA! OH yeah! Sure it is! Real tolerant of political dissent as long as its against Bush.

How many of these boneheads realize that Frisco is the closest target to hit from across the pacific?

With all the "bay areas" in the US, like Tampa, Mass, and San Fran, wouldn't it be more appropriate to find a sound alike for "bay area" that might more accurately and distinctively represent San Fran?

Yep, foaming at the mouth for the most virulent Bush haters....not Kerry lovers, Bush haters. That says it all.

Depression for the less politically active.

Denial for the Pollyanna liberals.

I hope these next four years are VERY memborable. Knowing Dubya and Dick, they will be.
I will HATE to see Cheney leave office. He has tickled my fancy ever since the famous, "Mother of all retreats" remark back in 1991. He would have been a fantastic president.
The Euorpean, commie, African, Hispanic and Asian nations would have HATED him. They would've RESPECTED and feared him, perhaps even admired him, but they would have hated him. He would've been fabulous for America.
Our Allies would have LOVED his tenure as president. Mr. No Nonsense wold have shut down ANY argument with his standard scalpel (sp.?), right on the mark comments.

San Francisco has 40% "independents." Read that as Republicans who know when to shut up and deal. The local GOP is so woosy. All they can do is recommend Democrats to vote for. Pathetic. They are, no doubt, really Democrats ferreting out closet Republicans.
Hey, who wants his car keyed?

I just ran into a guy working at a Palo Alto bookstore that complemented me on my "W 2004" hat. His was yellow, mine was gray. Bush supporters have to act like they are "in the closet" around here. :-)

Virtually none. These people are so obsessed with themselves and their pleasures that the rest of the world doesn't exist for any other purpose than a place for them to go play.

---Hey, who wants his car keyed?---

This isn't funny. There are literally millions of people who will not put a Republican bumper sticker on their car because they fear these bozos keying it. These political vandals should spend a minimum of a week in the can in addition to any fines and damages. Same for the sign vandals and graffiti heads.

I understand why people do that on one level.

But on another level, it drives me crazy. The more we do it, the more they bully everyone into believing their twisted and distorted view is right and in the majority.

My favorite T shirt...A 'no smoking' sort of circle with a diagonal line through it over top of the hammer and sickle. The text was, "The Party's Over"

Communism is a dead letter.
