Let me say out loud what everybody suspects and everyone is thinking.

I'll bet you all a Diet Coke that Kerry was given a dishonorable discharge. The reasons were twofold. His perjury-filled testimony before Congress, his contempt for the uniform and for wearing it to political events (unauthorized and punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice), and his failure to live up to his Ready Reserve obligations.

He then got the discharge changed to an "Honorable" by a friendly President several years later and had is aides purge the paper trail to cover up his dishonor.

If I am wrong, I'll eat my hat.

Probably not a full "Dishonorable" discharge, but a "General" discharge....which can be just a damning to one with political ambitions such as him. I'm absolutely amazed that more hasn't been leaked about his records.

On the bit about purjury. It seems a bit problematic to me for Kerry to get off easy for purjury in front of Congress but not in front of some Navy court of inquiry. Certainly, the law is the law, but you'd think the Navy would send someone to respond to Kerry's testimony (and possibly make countercharges) in front of Congress. Not knowing the circumstances surrounding Kerry's testimony, I'm just guessing about this. But maybe there is some congressional testimony concerning Kerry that's under wraps, eh?

"...Kerry was given a dishonorable discharge..."

Kerry may well have had a dishonorable disharge, after he fooled around with some of the prostitutes over there.

A Dishonorable Discharge is a punitive discharge under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) and can only be given as part of the punishment for conviction under a General Courts Martial. Officers convicted by a General Courts Martial do not receive a Dishonorable Discharge, only enlisted personnel can receive that discharge. Officers receive its equivalent, dismissal from the service.

Unfortunately, when Kerry brought great shame on his country and his service, none of those actions were offenses under the UCMJ. At that time, he was serving in the Inactive Reserve and not subject to the UCMJ.

It is, however, imperative that his acts be kept in the news and that voters are aware of his betrayal of his country and fellow service members. The MSM cannot be relied upon to tell the truth about Kerry's past.

Actually, I'll take that bet.
In all probability, his discharge was a Bad Conduct discharge.
Due to his having become a media darling during the time in question, it would have been far easier for the Navy explain a BCD than a DD.
'cept i hate diet coke.
How 'bout a pepsi?

Look at the bright side. At least your hat will have a lot of fiber in it and we all know how important that is to being regular.
