Editorial: Jones for U.S. Senate
In more than two decades of public service, Republican Bill Jones of Fresno has been a strong advocate for the San Joaquin Valley, and we think he will represent the region well if he's elected to the U.S. Senate on Nov. 2.
Electing someone who understands the entire state is a crucial consideration for those of us in the Valley who have been severely under-represented by state elected officials who cater to the needs of San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Now IMHO, I like Bill Jones, and there is NO DOUBT that he is far more intelligent and qualified that Barbara Boxer (D)(L).
Now if the Sacramewnto Bee endorses him we'll KNOW hell has frozen over.
"they might think that he has no chance of beating Boxer, but they endorsed him anyway because the valley is pretty conservative, so why infuriate their customers more than they need to? Whatever their reasons, I'm surprised, but still pleased."
Has the Fresno Bee lost subscribers in the last few years due to their liberal stances.
It will be interesing to see who the Queen Bee, the Sac Bee supports.
One of the tricks many left wing fish wrap do is to trash the conservative all election year and right before the election, say that they aren't supporting anyone.
It's been a cold summer in Northern Kali, hasn't it?
I'm going to vote for Bill, but I know he's going to get creamed on 11/2. This is California, which has become the unwanted socialist bastard and commie albatross of the nation. I may move if the leftist lunacy continues around here.
Hey, but there's hope! I saw one of Boxer's dumb lifeless ads, and you know what? She's gettin OLD! I guess I hadn't seen her in awhile (I think psychologists call this "avoidance"). This means she's probably gettin close to the end of her rope.
I suspect that the Bee, like other liberal papers, has lost subscribers. This might be like what happens in the House or Senate, when a member is allowed to vote for or against a bill so as to not make his constituents angry. He knows his vote won't count, and is a "safe" vote.
Being an absentee voter, I already voted for Bill. But have you noticed how quiet Boxer has been? The liberals will go "quiet" when they are up for re-election so they don't screw up too bad when it gets close. Daschle is being quiet right now also. But if they win, they start the constant motor mouthing again until the next election gets near. She is getting old though, and it's time to put her out to pasture, or send her to the glue factory. I wouldn't have her made into dog food though. I wouldn't do that to the cute lil' critters.
That's a great site punch!
How about the fact that Bill Jones is the home town boy? He was my mother's student at Bullard High School in Fresno -- Fresno Bee, get it?
He graduated from Roosevelt Hi, class of 1966.
Plus I think Frenso was part of the area Jones distance was in when he was in the State Senate.
"This isn't just about Jones being from the Valley. He showed in two terms as secretary of state that he can represent all of California."
Yeah, she doesn't last too long on my screen either. It's the blessing of the remote control.
Southern CA needs to have a senator that represents our interests in this part of the state!
I would say that southern California is well represented by Feinstein and Boxer, at least Los Angeles County (which has the largest share of population).
I think it is the opposite. They are supported by LA and we need to be represented from someone from the Socal area. I wish Duke Cunningham would have run against her. But I'll vote for Jones the same.
