18 hour time difference from L.A. We'll know soon enough the results of the general election. Let's hope it doesn't end up like Spain's and Canuckistan's earlier this year.

Canuckistan was soooo close... The Spainyards turned into a bunch of wusses. I hope the Aussies keep the faith tonight.

Don't worry, Australia is no Canada. For starters, they have no Quebec, and secondly, their "Ontario", Victoria, is only the second largest state, while the largest state (and Sydney) is moderate. Their "British Columbia" is the sixth or smallest state (third to fifth largest states are all conservative to the point of being red by US standards).

Given that even the ALP is to the right of Canada's Liberal Party, and that their equivalent of NDP (Democrats and Greens) are considered loony to be shunned en masse, Australia is still in safe hands. And best of all it looks like Latham will lose tonight.
