I'm looking forward to my trip to Ann Arbor tommorrow. I've been to a lot of shrines (Rose Bowl, SouthBend, Masters, Boston Garden, Fenwy, Wrigley,Pebble Beach, Wimbeldon) but never that wonderful bastion of college football excellence.

I had an absolute blast last two years with the Michigan traveling contingent up here in the Twin Cities. Tough loss for the Gophs last year, and my friends and I ended up closing down the bars a 3 a.m. with about 15 great "Maze and Blue" stalwarts from all over the country. They were cool beyond belief, and my two buddies and I kept their bidness cards are hooking up with their tailgate before the game.

That's the beauty of College Football ... of all Sports ... of America. If the Browns and Steelers fans can party it up after a game, America is still in pretty damn fine shape. And it is in direct contradiction to the stuff Sissy Matthews was pounding "Kerry supporters and Bush supporters don't live the same lives or talk to each other ... we're fractured and divisive." Baloney. Chris knows no-one outside his little Georgetown cocktail party echo chamber, but America is about folks arguing and fighting and going home friends. At least, the majority of us. That's why November 2, America is going for the President in a big way.

I hope you take the long walk, through campus, to the stadium. It's an amazing experience, as the numbers and energy keep growing. (I am a Michigan grad.) And the stadium is truly one of the greatest places to watch college football, especially with the electricity of tomorrow's game.

Have a great time. I will have you know I gave up my tickets to go put up yard signs for President Bush tomorrow morning and can't make an early game on the other side of the state:)

Just jumping in on your conversation here. I'm a Michigan mom and Michigan alumna (twice over). You will love A2 on a football Saturday; it's a wonderful experience, even for those of us who aren't big football fans. Have a great time in the Big House.
