October 8th Bush/Kerry Debate
It wasn't close. Bush cleaned his clock, and, from the clips I saw, Bush was talking to the people as well as I've ever seen him. I predict "You want some wood" will become the unofficial campaign slogan, like "Log Cabins and Hard Cider!"
I understand your sentiments, but one thing that makes Rush great (which he understands) is PROGRAMMING---always leave the audience wanting more. EVERYONE will tune in on Mon. to hear his response.
Next rally everyone should bring small pieces of wood!
The best part of the line is that it is so capitalistic!
Bush finds out he has a lumber company and he immediatly he is attempting to sell wood!
I hope Dubya is able to break his dad's record....
Yes, I recall...that was 20+ years ago. Now, try to place yourself in that setting....the media was a bit different, albeit still biased. It wasn't cable news 24/7 yet, so the voting cohort was different although more Depression era democrats were still living. I'm saying that the 'undecided' vote of today is much more likely to bow to the spin, especially those that are first time voters. Heck, the crowd in the debate last night generally were in diapers when Reagan was in office. A few were older...old enough to not be undecided at this point, but every generation is salted with some that aren't bright enough to make decisions. Although older, they certainly never got any wiser and they'll vote the party they always voted for--most likely democratic.
If anyone taped the debate and can do a capture, I would appreciate it (and others might too) if they would post a picture of the young woman who asked the question about abortion and ping me. If they could transcribe her exact question and the respective responses from both candidates, that would be even better.
Re the timber company. Apparently he came up with that factoid by scouring Bush's tax return. It wasn't lost on me that he has evidently been over that document with a fine-tooth comb, and won't release his own. It was a typical Kerry cheap shot.
Thanks. I can pick up the text from that. Now for the picture . . . and not that I am a one-issue person. There was just something very compelling about that moment and the young woman who asked the question.
I was so proud of him last night. Listening to part of the debate on the radio, I was nervous, because Kerry sounded so oily and slick...reminded me of the way Clinton charmed his way into four more years. Your friend has it right. Kerry lies with the straight face of an experienced liar. I couldn't even finish the debate on television, I was so nervous...but when I read the transcript last night, I sighed with relief. Honestly, Bush won decisively and I'm cherishing hopes of a trouncing at the polls when Bush is reelected. I'm praying to God for a landslide.
Let there be no doubt!

I came to this thread specifically to see if y'all noticed the "quivering."
It was pointed out to me on another thread, and when I watched the replay, I couldn't help but grimace.
I'm sure he didn't know that he was doing it (it seemed to me that he couldn't think of the word, "Parkinson's," and it was an unconscious gesture), but how offensive was THAT?!? Yikes.
I'm glad y'all saw it, too.
Is that what Lurch meant by saying abortion cures aids??? He is one sick puppy. Also, on that partial birth abortion thing, if a baby can survive being born 3 months early, then instead of a partial birth abortion, why don't they just perform a c-section? I have never seen a clear explanation for this.

Great Job FR, Bump!
As they say wisdom is timeless.

Heh, heh, heh.
