There seems to be one or two of these "fraternity" deaths every year with extreme cruelty perpetrated by the "fraternity" brothers. What a price to pay for acceptance into these snobby little cliques! With "friends" like these in life, who ever needs look for an enemy? Dying to belong - - - girls starving themselves to death so they'll fit into the sorority where only thin is in - - boys drinking themselves to death so they'll fit into the fraternity where only drunks can be successful in life - - - how sad.
Ronald Reagan was a TKE. I guess you hate him now for being a frat boy.

Naw...no success here.
Well said.
While I would not universally condemn all frats, in too many of them, self abuse (drinking to excess) and abuse of others (i.e. hazing) occurs regularly.
These kids end up concluding that the real world regards fondly both drunks & bullies. And of course, that is hardly the case
They are are not like that where I come from. Before I joined Theta Chi I had almost flunked out of college. After I joined OX I was on the dean's list every semester until I graduated. I then went on to graduate school and own a VERY successful business. Hazing is sad but I would have said to such stupidity!
Yeah, there are a couple deaths every year. There are also deaths from being struck by lightning, having windows fall out of high rise buildings, from riding snowmobiles, from owning dogs, from leaving children in cars in the summer, from any number of things.
What you bleeding hearts don't seem to understand is that life is a risk. Unless you are cowering in a cave wearing a hardhat and wrapped up in a mattress you are a hypocrite.
Snobby little cliques? My sorority, ZTA at Chico State, California, had several philanthropies, one of which was the Association for Retarded Citizens. Before I was in the sorority, I was afraid of "retarded" people. Now I actively involved in some sports activities with them. Snobby cliques? I just had a reunion with them. Everyone I hung out with was down to earth. Maybe you're watching too much MTV.
