Sorry if I somehow missed that request, but I have gone back through your posts all the way back to mid September and I do not see a request from you. You have been removed and I regret any inconvenience that my pings caused you or anyone else. I do not keep people on my list for sport. It is very important to me that people who do not want to be pinged are not. Thanks for letting me know.

You are correct, dirty money is everywhere. If you got money, you will buy influences.

It would have been a perfect play for Iraq to have the sanctions lifted before 9-11. It probably wouldn't have hurt Saddam a bit if he gave northern Iraq and the Turks to Usama as a playground as long as he retained control over the oil. Never underestimate Saddam. It's not who he was, it's who he thought he was.....

Actually Saddam is a CIA made dictator. He is nothing more than power hungry, no ideologies whatsoever.

Our policies towards him was initially to encourage him to mess with Iran. He took that to mean that he can do no wrong. The power went to his head sort of speak. That arrogance, and strong desire to be worshiped, which comes natural to ALL dictators was the reason for his downfall. We know how to press his buttons, and how to play him, and he fell like a buffoon. As I reflect back, I have to say at least he was containing the Islamic hysteria that dominates most Muslim countries. He had law and order even though he and his cronies were above the law. The big point that I would like to make is to realize that the US is backing many other dictators, who subvert the laws; namely, the dictator of Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. It would be disingenuous to think that we are opposing him because he killed a bunch of his political enemies, or because he was a dictator. That should be for the consumption of the unlearned. I must make my point fast here before I lose you. My point is the heart of the Muslim Terrorism is “Islam” itself. To fight that ideology you must go to real FANATICS. The real fanatics are not, or better put were not in Iraq. The real fanatics are in IRAN, SAUDI ARABIA, EGYPT… After 9/11, we should have lifted the sanction on Saddam with the condition that he will help us fight Iran. In that case we could have found lots of partners in Europe, and the Moslem world, and without giving the impression that we are fighting the Moslems. It would be easily seen that we are with Iraq, Syria, and Egypt are fighting the fanatic part of Islam. The dictators of Egypt, Iraq, and Syria could help cover the mission against the real fanatical Moslem terrorists. This would have created real progress against the “WAR ON TERROR”.
