More wild-eyed propaganda from the liberal establishment.

More signs of absolute desperation!

Bush is not Nixon, even though Kerry and his fawning admirers still live a Twilight Zone type of existence in which the calendar stays stuck forever on 1971. But if the liberals want to play that game, they should remember that Nixon won 49 states in his re-election against a big war hero.

Frank Rich? What a joke! Kerry was at best okay, not that great. Nor was Bush all that bad. In fact, I thought he did fine. This is all spin, spin, spin. It's not Bush who's desperate, it's the last gasp of the MSM as we come down to the wire. If they lose, they lose big--and they know it. So they're pulling out the stops, rigging polls, writing spin pieces, trying to blow a little wind into Kerry's sails. He will still lose--and not by a slim margin either. Bush will take OH and FL, with WI and NM as an added cushion, and, I hope, PA--though with the fraud in Philadelphia this is still in doubt.

It's fascinating, isn't it? They really do think this is the late '60-'70's. I grew up in the '80's & '90's but I don't obsessively dwell on either decade.

Let's say the impossible (according to Rich I'm sure) should happen and G.W. is elected by a very comfortable margin. I'm not certain their mental health is sure they can accept that over 30-40 years has gone. They'd have to look in the mirror, realize they've put on weight, their hair has thinned, and everyone else grew up.

President Bush is 5'11"? Try 5'11 3/4' or 6' even... http://www.doctorzebra.com/prez/g43.htm

He seems much taller in stature than his opponent, in more ways than one. ;-)

I think this mentally-living-in-another-time thing is one of the reasons CBS really fell on its sword trying to elect Kerry. All the big guns there - the on-camera and off-camera 60 Minutes octogenarians, Dan Rather, powerful behind-the-scenes guys - come from that era themselves. Rather made his name in 1968, and burnished it in attack interviews of Nixon. Their mental development stopped in 1971 or so.

The ultimate victory over Nixon never really satisfied them because it helped end the very era they loved so much. There is no other explanation for what is happening this year. It is a giant political Woodstock festival on the Democrat side, and the recent violence against Republican campaign offices is so reminiscent of that era and shows the danger when carefully nourished, decades-old illusions and fantasies are challenged.

a campaign's seemingly mundane decision about television theatrics has potentially changed the dynamic of a presidential election.

Rich wishes!

Rich is as delusional as Monica Lewinsky thinking she's slim! Rich is as delusional as Jesse Jackasson thinking he's a Reverend.

I am familiar with that era and its their last hoorah and I suspect a reminder that their time is running out and death seems more imminent.

Trying to recapture their lost youth.
