Why is that every, every, every poll that is every done, among any ethnic group, among any political group, period, shows that the people overwhelmingly want controls on illegal immigration, yet every politician simply ignores it.

Menendez Amendment #27 - Substitute amendment by Rep. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) which strips out all of the immigration- related provisions.

Smith Amendment #50 - Rep. Chris Smith's (R-NJ) amendment removes the provisions allowing expedited removal of illegal aliens, terrorists, and criminal aliens present in the United States less than five years.

Smith (NJ) #51 - This amendment, also by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), strikes the section designed to prevent fraudulent asylum claims.

New Jersey???

This is what the Wall Street Journal says about FAIR"

"In fact, CIS, FAIR, NumbersUSA, Project-USA and more than a half-dozen similar groups that Republicans have become disturbingly comfy with, were founded or funded (or both) by John Tanton, a retired doctor in Michigan.
In addition to trying to stop immigration to the U.S., appropriate population-control measures for Dr. Tanton and his network include promoting China's one-child policy, sterilizing Third World women and wider use of RU-486.

"FAIR, where Mr. Krikorian once worked, is run by Dan Stein and shares advisers and personnel with CIS and other members of the Tanton nexus. As our Jason Riley noted in a March op-ed, "By Dr. Tanton's own reckoning, FAIR has received more than $1.5 million from the Pioneer Fund, a white-supremacist outfit devoted to racial purity through eugenics." I like the idea of the President getting a homeland security bill incorporating the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission enacted before the election .

Immigration reform can wait.

I think the WSJ article about FAIR was the same article where they threw their support to Chris Cannon? You know, this guy:

"CANNON URGES ILLEGALS TO DONATE ILLEGALLY (Rep. Chris Cannon, Republican-Utah)"

.... yet every politician simply ignores it

Not to be glib but it's rather simple. They no longer fear you / us, the citizen voter. When less than 10% of the people (and in some elections as little as 2-5%) even bother to vote in off year elections and only 45% to 55% during a presidential election year then why should they have any fear? Daddy always told me that we deserve the kind of politicians we vote for, or in this case the kind of politicians that we don't bother voting for.

If more people don't bother to get off their big fat lazy arses and off their comfy couches and take more active interest in the electoral process then the American way of self governance in serious peril for the long term and we will be well on our way to a socialist and dictatorial form of government.

Good. It's time that all Americans stand up to the travesty of justice being foisted on us by all these cowardly politicians.

sterilizing Third World women

Instead of bringing them all here so they can live the good life of welfare programs? Nothing wrong with leaving them in their homelands --- it's up to them to fix those dumps up.

Yeah--all from NJ. This has WH fingerprints all over it. NJ is not a state W expects to get, anyway.

Could it be that the politicians are bribed by the criminals? Or our enemies have infiltrated the government?

Hence why I'm voting against Dreier for the first time. I'm sick of his pandering to illegal aliens and the companies that want to emply them.

Yes, anytime someone posts an article from a source that is a front for a radical anti-white group or Islamofacist group or other extremist hate group you should expose them.

Men of good will want to know when they are being fed false propaganda.

Victory: House refuses to strip all immigration provisions from H.R. 10 (House 9/11 bill)

The U.S. House of Representatives just voted 213-203 against an amendment that would have stripped all immigration safeguards from H.R. 10.

H.R. 10 is the House's legislation in response to the 9/11 Commission's recommendations for a more secure America.

Close vote! Close call! Close scare!

Democrats and Only 8 Republicans Backed Bush Request for Weaker Efforts Against Illegal Aliens

Every single Democrat who voted stood with the Bush White House in trying to kill all provisions to make illegal immigration more difficult.

But the proposed tougher rules against illegal immigration are still in the bill as Congress goes to bed tonight because only 8 House Republicans followed the White House's wishes. The other 213 Republicans voted for the tough new anti-illegal-immigration rules.

Later Today

Later this morning, the House will resume debate and votes on a list of amendments.

A couple of the amendment raise a threat of weakening the immigration provisions somewhat but not substantially.

Most of the amendments would make the immigration rules tougher.

We will let you know as the votes progress.

One step at a time, friends. But this was a mighty big step toward turning the corner on illegal immigration.

The vote a few minutes ago virtually insured that the House will pass a 9/11 bill with wonderfully strong new provisions to reduce illegal alien settlement in this country.

Assuming that Speaker Hastert (R-IL) can keep his Party in the same discipline as Thursday night, we should enter the weekend with the House having passed later Friday a 9/11 bill with provisions sought by our side for years and years.

The Senate on Wednesday passed a 9/11 bill that does NOT include any recommendations by the 9/11 Commission concerning immigration.

A joint conference committee will have to hammer out the differences between the two bills, perhaps in time to bring a compromise bill back to both houses before the November elections.

Many Thanks for All Your Efforts

Leaders for H.R. 10 have told us that the tremendous push by you citizens played a tremendous role in helping 213 Members of Congress to stand firm against the lobbying of the White House.

Thank you for your tens of thousands of faxes and your thousands of phone calls into Congress the last week.

-- ROY

"Should I bring up all of the communists or anti-white racsists who support open borders?"

The Libertarian Party Platform is the only official platform for completely open borders, AFAIK. The anti-free-trade "mainstreet" lobbies want to oppose any and all immigration since they crawled, starving, up on our shores only a 100 years ago, give or take, but they don't want to put the blame where it belongs (on the corporations they worship, and the corporations and big government their kids work for--huge number of pro-divorce, feminazi programs). And they don't want any cometition on "mainstreet." Waaaaaaa, waaaaaaa, Wal Mart.

And they wonder why no one beyond their local feds pays attention to them.
