Good Place For Conservatives to LIve

Posted on 10/07/2004 6:02:34 PM PDT by OXM_1962

I hate living in western Oregon and am seriously contemplating moving to another part of the country.

I prefer more sunshine, less cloudy days and a conservative majority.

Any advice is kindly regarded.

Where in Bama? My brother-in-law speaks highly of Huntsville.

There's still a lot of conservative strongholds out here in the boondocks of Pennsy.

You need to seriously consider Wyoming. Cheyenne is a very livable city with a decent mix of recreation, mountains, and cities nearby (Ft. Collins is 35 minutes away and Denver is only 100 miles away). Yes, it does get windy here at times but the low taxes, low crime rate, low population, and conservative family values present make this a worthwhile move. Other favorites of mine include Sheridan, Lander (awesome scenery), Riverton, and Buffalo. Send me a private response if you want more information - can help!!

You betcha! When things do change here things always end up just as beautiful. The Tombigbee is a marvelous place. They have managed to combine new industry with Old South and made it work.
I've been known to do a little hog hunting in Butler, I live north of B'ham.

We'd be glad to have you in Savannah. It's a bit warm here, but it's also quite warm.

Ah Savannah. My uncle was pastor of a church in Savannah Beach, and later Statesboro. I always thought Savannah was such a beautiful city!

I was born in Eugene, Oregon and raised in Portland. Moved to California and have been complaining about the traffic ever since.

We've decided to relocate to Western Kentucky. Low cost of living, nice people, and as green as Oregon....

The interesting thing about Austin is that just outside the City Limit, it is very conservative Republican Country.

Only within the City Limit of Austin do you see environmental wackos, socialists of all stripes, and what not.

The Democrats, with a few exceptions, outside of Austin are fairly conservative and decent folks. You can argue with them and retain your sanity.

I live in Cedar Park, just outside NW of Austin, and it is heavily Republican!

If I could choose any place to live, the hill country would be it. It is beautiful. Truly.

New Braunfels, TX. 32 mi from San Antonio, most beautiful park and river in the world (IMHO, calling it my childhood hometown).

Virginia!

Beautiful weather. You have four distinct seasons, but no terribly horrible winters. The beach and the mountains are both within a 2-hour drive if you live in the central part of the state. History...the history of Virginia is practically the early history of the nation. Friendly people. And last but not least, respect for values and a conservative majority.

South Africa. Cheap labor, somewhat like Belize and Costa Rica.

Very congenial to conservatives. Well, the White part anyway. You may need to stay behind walls at times, but still...very nice place!

You must love it, I hear gay rape is up a 1000%
