People soon will be able to carry guns and other dangerous weapons onto the grounds and parking lots of Reagan National and Dulles International airports, after officials yesterday eased what they said were overly restrictive rules.

Without debate, the board of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority unanimously agreed to permit passengers and other airport visitors to carry guns, knives and other weapons as long as they keep them out of terminals and other buildings that access airfields. Passengers who are taking guns with them on flights still will be allowed to carry them into the terminal but are supposed to make arrangements with airlines in advance, officials said.

The issue at National, which I used to frequent often, is that the private aviation executive terminal(Signature Flight Support) is in very close proximity to the scheduled carrier terminal. People who use executive private flights frequently carry small arsenals with them. Especially the most liberal ones. Those Stephens Family brothers from down south could conduct a small war. Whoopie Goldberg is accompanied by an entourage of armed thugs that could overtake Johannesburgh in an hour. The Coca Cola Bottler out of Chatenooga flies safari trips to kill big game in Africa all the time. These types carry very expensive powerful weapons and damn it, nobody is going to stop them from doing what the little people can't. I won't even discuss the fact that the general aviation terminals don't go thru luggage checks, you see, some people don't think their drugs are anybody's business but their own. Some with a prescription and most without.

I love how the gun folks in Virginia are exercising their Second Amendment rights. Sometimes I go into Subway here in Phoenix with a gun on my hip and no one says a thing. Maybe we should have a "National Public Carry Day."

I'd have to leave NJ to participate.........Oh, you said a "National" day. Never mind, that excludes PRNJ.

Eveyday should be carry-day, open or concealed.

I have carried everywhere, everyday for years, including the time I worked in WashDC. Yes, I went to the 'man' and asked permission to exercise what is a right, but it is better than ending up in jail. Of course, when I lived in Peoples Republic of Maryland, I didn't even have the option of asking the 'man' for my rights, and everyday was a chance to end up in jail.
