Does anyone believe Charles Dulfer and David Kay have been paid off by the UN or DEMS

No weapons since 1991, this is a joke report. Noone believed this would have been possible in 2002. The UN I am convinced took the weapons out of Iraq to discredit Bush. He would not have risked his Presidency that he would have won easily if he knew there was no WMD.

Have you actually read the report, or are you relying on biased headlines?

Saddam was a madman bent on US destruction. His plan was to elude sanctions and reap billions of $$$ in the meanwhile dealing with the corrupt UN, French, Russians & Germans. Then he was going to turn his WMD force loose. Bush called his bluff. It's not the US' fault that Saddam is insance and even the world's best intelligence is still mystified by his actions over a 15 years.

This has the makings of a text book set-up. Once the Dems are way out on their front foot over this WMD issue Bush will announce a major discovery with linkage to Al Queda.

I'm not buying that line anymore. If you let the Democrats propogandize people for 1 1/2 years they won't believe it if suddenly WMD's and operational ties to Iraq evidence shows up 3 weeks before the election.

They will say Bush is making it up to save his power.

While we are waiting for *this* to happen, what's *really* going to come out?

True statement. Treachery by Bill Gertz outlines the deceptions of Iraq and how he was courted by the G,F,R as well as NK.

I think we have to accept the fact that there isnt any WMD's in Iraq, the President the Congress and the entire world had the wool pulled over there eyes on this. I still believe they will be found but I am no longer going to hold my breath.

Not sure about that.

I'd like to know whom Bremer is working for. On the day of a major vice-presidential debate he gives the MSM, Washington Post of all sources, a sound bite. That Edwards just happened to be able to use in his argument during the debate.

They were UN inspectors before they were US inspectors. If they admit to any WMDs being made while they had their tails tucked then they can't avoid responsibility if any of this stuff goes off in the future. No one wants to be responsible for a potential thousands of future victims of Saddam's WMDs.

They haven't even found the WMDs that they previously documented but since they can't find any newer ones ( assuming that they aren't hiding evidence ) we are supposed to assume that Saddam didn't make any while the liberals took their eyes off of him.

Bush better realize that the UN is more dangerous than al Qaeda at this point.

What is the point of this? WMD were found in Iraq. That has been widely reported. The Dims merely switched to stock piles of WMD were not found, as if enought to kill half a million to a milion people is not enough to give Osma bin Laden some for the NYC subway system. The MSM dutifully went right along.

But the administration decided this was not worth the fight with the MSM. So they think they will win reelection without worrying about whether or not the Iraqi WMD are in Syria or Iran or Chechnya or where ever. I hope they are right.

The news has misrepresented the report, big time.

THE MEDIA IS NOT REPORTING SOME KEY POINTS MENTIONED IN THE REPORT.

A) There is a difference between not finding STOCKPILES of WMD.....and finding ANY WMD.

Shells of Mustard and Sarin Gas were found in Iraq...just months ago. Saddam was not allowed to have those.
And Sarin and Mustard Gas......well, that's WMD.

B) The report represents only a small targeted search.
There is well over 3/4ths of Iraq that has NOT been searched for WMD.
The weapons inspection team only checked where paper trails and certain witnesses would lead them.
They were given a target date to complete this.

(BIG PROBLEM THERE- Some where in that country...there are most likely WMD's buried. Some evil folks know that. If we end this search now....it could lead to big problems)

C) As indicated by a pre-release of the report....THE REPORT STATES THAT SADDAM WAS IN VIOLATION AND POCESSED ILLEGAL MATERIAL THAT CAN BE USED TO MAKE WMD.

Also- it indicates that Saddam did seek Uranium.

D) THE REPORT STATES THAT SADDAM MAY HAVE BEEN A BIGGER THREAT THAN WE THOUGHT.
It mentions that his research for weapons development was much further along than was previously thought.

decided this was not worth the fight with the MSM.

They NEVER think it's worth the fight with what - YOU - call the MSM. Rather it's the LM, or leftwing 'mainstream'. Mainstream in quotes, because it's not.

That's the problem with the GOP, in the time following Reagan. Reagan took it to the press, and showed teflon for it - even on Iran-Contra. Now you've got BOTH Kerry and Edwards trying to out-optimistic Reagan himself, using Reagan's own lines. Reagan won. Bush is defensive. He calls himself a Reaganite, but isn't really. He ran as a 'centrist' GOP, and that 'nanny handout state' is what you might see him describe on Friday. I still see Bush by 8% and 320+ electoral votes, as I said MONTHS ago! But he doesn't make it easy for himself. Cheney did help, last night - or rather Edwards positively hurt the Kerry Campaign. But we'll see.

Duelfler's pre-lim reporting-

Key points that are mentioned in the current report--
THAT THE MEDIA DOES NOT WANT TO MENTION--

-Procurement
(UN Oil for Food program mentioned)
The primary source of illicit financing for this system was oil smuggling conducted through government-to-government protocols negotiated by Iraq with neighboring countries. Money also was obtained from kickback payments made on contracts set up through the UN’s Oil for Food program.

-Biological and Chemical Weapons
The ISG has developed new information regarding Iraq’s dual-use facilities and ongoing research suitable for a capability to produce biological or chemical agents on short notice. Iraq did have facilities suitable for the production of biological and chemical agents needed for weapons. It had plans to improve and expand and even build new facilities.

For example, the Tuwaitha Agricultural and Biological Research Center has equipment suitable for the production of biological agents. While it conducts civilian research, ISG has also determined that it was conducting research that would be important for a biological weapons program. For example, we are continuing to examine research on Bacillus thuringiensis that was conducted until March 2003. This material is a commercial biopesticide, but it also can be used as a surrogate for the anthrax bacterium for production and weapons development purposes. Work continued on single cell proteins at Tuwaitha as well. Single cell protein research previously had been used as the cover activity for BW production at al-Hakam. We are now focusing on what such activities meant.

With respect to chemical production, Iraq was working up to March 2003 to construct new facilities for the production of chemicals. There were plans under the direction of a leading nuclear scientist/WMD program manager to construct plants capable of making a variety of chemicals and producing a year’s supply of any chemical in a month. This was a crash program. Most of the chemicals specified in this program were conventional commercial chemicals, but a few are considered “dual use.” One we are examining, commonly called DCC (N,N-Dicyclohexyl carbodiimide), was used by Iraq before 1991 as a stabilizing agent for the nerve agent VX. Iraq had plans before OIF for large-scale production of this chemical. Again, what do these activities mean?

-Nuclear Weapons
Likewise, in the nuclear arena, the ISG has developed information that suggests Iraqi interest in preserving and expanding the knowledge needed to design and develop nuclear weapons.

-Delivery Systems
In addition to WMD technologies, the ISG has continued to uncover a very robust program for delivery systems that were not reported to the UN. New information has been discovered relating to long-range ballistic missile development and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Missiles and UAVs were flight tested that easily exceeded the UN limit of 150 kilometers. More than that, the Iraqi regime was developing technology to extend one of their ballistic missile’s range beyond 150 kilometers with changes to airframes and fuels. Discussions were underway with North Korea regarding technology associated with a 1,300 km system—presumably the No Dong. Other foreign support was being used or solicited.

-Regime Intent (They never had a decent lead)
Some of these decisions may not have been recorded in traditional ways, such as documents. They may never have been broadly disseminated. They may have been orally transmitted or conveyed to only a select group, a trusted inner circle. We know from high-level debriefings that Saddam conveyed his most sensitive messages to particular individuals orally. Moreover, there were explicit instructions not to repeat such conversations.

Over the past ten months, we have learned that his most senior and trusted officials can hold their tongues as well. Some are willing to talk, but they oftentimes are the ones we know were not in the inner circle.

you have to keep responding, fighting for the right thing is always the hardest and longest fight. It will loose when people don't care enough to respond.
