No, actually Steve is fine. He made his peace with all this long ago, rejoined the military and served out his career in the Coast Guard. Steve became a Christian several years ago and has let go of a number of aspects of his past. The one thing he felt was still a loose end from his VVAW days was an opportunity to apologize to Vietnam veterans, and Larry Bailey and Terry Garlock of the Kerry Lied Rally gave him that opportunity.

It is amazing that the story of the year, John Kerry's anti-American activities after the Vietnam War, so heroically shown here and via the Swifties has received absolutely no play or coverage by the MSM. I wish I had a reasonable explanation for it, but the only conclusion one can draw is the willful effort by the MSM to hide the truth in order to protect themselves. Despicable beyond belief.

I'm sorry but this doesn't do anything for me. A man says someone "made" him lie but now he's telling the truth? He probably is telling the truth now but has 0 credability, at least with me.
My own father to this day is in therapy to help him deal with his experiences in 'Nam, he hasn't had a peaceful nights sleep in 30+ years. I spent 11 years of my life in the military and you could't get me to say what he says he said under torture.

Pitkin's words carry ten times the punch as the SwiftBoat Vets, good as theirs is. Unfortunately, it's not enough to expand into a book. I don't know if Pitkin and SBVs ever met, but it might have been a good thing to include testimony like Pitkin's into UNFIT FOR COMMAND---kind of as an antidote to The New Soldier/Winter Soldier books from 30-some years earlier.
