Why We Must Re-Elect Bush!

OK question time kids, who will you be voting for come November? John Kerry, who wants us to ignore 20 plus years of doing nothing in the Senate in favor of four months of self-promotion in Vietnam? Is this your choice for president?

Or perhaps you are leaning towards supporting President Bush? Will your choice be to re-elect this man, giving him another four years in the White House?

There are, of course more than just these two options on the ballot but the fact is one of these two very different men will take the oath of office next January. And many feel this election is possibly the most important in our nation’s history.

Personally calling this the most crucial election might be over the top but the importance of the November contest is not to be underestimated. The issue of where we will go in our war on terror hangs in the balance, as do issues like economic policies, taxation, gun rights, and the respect of human life.

Surely we have been inundated with a plethora of reasons not to vote for Kerry or not to vote for Bush. Certainly both parties have spent a great deal of time and energy debating why the other guy should not be elected.

This column, however, is not about why not to vote for Kerry. There are, most Conservatives agree, many reasons to oppose Kerry. Those reasons have been covered repeatedly and no doubt will be covered plenty of times before voting day arrives. There is a time and place for all of that. Now, though is the time to focus on why we should vote for Bush.

Yes, unlike the Democrats Republicans have a reason to vote for our candidate instead of against the other guy. Our candidate, President Bush, has not been a perfect president. No one ever will be. And in truth, he has not been the most Conservative president. But he has been a true leader, which this nation has needed desperately since 9-11 and needs desperately for the next four years.

After the terrorist attacks America needed strength from Washington. George Bush provided that. We needed a leader who would have resolve and a firm grasp of right and wrong. Again George Bush was that man. America needed a man who could recognize that we had been forced, by the heinous acts of the terrorists, to either surrender or defeat those terrorists. Once again George Bush proved himself up to that challenge.

George W. Bush saw a very clear vision after 9-11. He saw a world where the new evil was fanatical terrorists who despise freedom and free nations. He saw a threat which, if left unmet, would destroy everything this great nation represents. Today this president continues to see that we must meet this enemy and defeat them.

There is a firmness of purpose with George Bush which inspires confidence in Americans willing to face reality. Just as Ronald Reagan looked at Communism and saw evil which must be defeated George Bush looks at terrorists and sees an evil which we must conquer.

Just like President Reagan stood tall and defeated the soviets President Bush is standing tall and is defeating terrorism. Certainly just as Reagan ignored the pacifists who predicted doom if America dared challenge the evil of Communism, Bush is ignoring today’s pacifists and is daring to fight terrorists.

It is not an easy thing to lead. And surely leading in the face of much criticism is an even tougher task. President Bush has shown he has the firmness of resolve to do just that. He can lead in tough times and he will not back down from a position he feels is right and just to score political points. We can not afford to lose such a quality in a leader at this time in our history.

We can not afford to turn our national defense and security over to the party which ran away from the tough stance on terrorist attacks during the 1990’s. Despite the cries to the contrary President Bush sees very clearly that fighting terror does not create more terrorists. Instead fighting these animals is the only way to defeat them.

President Bush understands that there are times and situations which need compromise and discussion. Dealing with terrorists is not such a situation. We must re-elect this man who has the depth of character to grasp this principle.

We need President Bush and his administration now, and we will need this team even more in the four years to come. We must have leadership which is willing to go after those who would do us harm before they have the chance. Pre-emption works. It takes from the terrorists the initiative and places it in our hands. Again George Bush has the vision to see this and the moral courage to act on it.

Committing our brave soldiers, the very best fighting force in the world to war is not an easy duty. And we need a leader who not only recognizes how dear the loss of any soldier is but also possesses the conviction to know that sometimes it is necessary to remain a free nation.

It takes a great leader to wield such power. It requires a sense of duty and the common sense to see there are evil-doers who will harm us unless we act.

President Bush is such a man.

Just a little bedtime reading! Sometimes I get so wrapped up in why John Kerry is so wrong that it is nice to remember why W is so right.

W said a great thing today about not being able to win a war you don't believe in....

This is lost on the Dems because they are planning on voting for a candidate that most of them can't stand....they see no issue with it.....

I have never heard one Dem talk about how "inspirational" Comrade Kerry is....

I've heard plenty of positive admiration and inspiration attributed to our great President.

"This is lost on the Dems because they are planning on voting for a candidate that most of them can't stand..."

It is a simple fact that many of them don't care because in fact they think that it would be "good" for America to lose the war in Iraq.

I'm hoping for a landslide as it will send the entire world a message that the American people are behind Bush 100 percent.

This would do us wonders worldwide.

yes, I couln't agree more. We must have a landslide for Bush. This will send a message around the world. This will also free up Kerry to run for President of France.

Come on, the French are too smart to elect Kerry to anything.
