[concerned about politics]

Edwards was indecisive and couldn't stay on the topic of the question.

Every time Cheney nailed him, he changed the subject to something else....
"Yes, I avoided paying taxes, but....but..... Haliberton!!"
"Yes, we need to fight terrorism, but....but....millions are without health care!"

I watched the debate rather late last night since I have recorded it on my DVR. What I started doing about halfway through the debate was whenever Edwards said, "But I would like to get back to.." I would invoke a 30 second penalty on Edwards and fast forward the recording.
