ALLAWI: WE SEEK TO END FIGHTING TO PREPARE FOR SAFE ELECTIONS Baghdad, As-Sabah, Oct 6, Page 1 Dr. Iyad Allawi the Iraqi premier said that the military operations will be escalated and continued to end he fighting and violence in some cities to prepare for safe elections scheduled in the advent of 2005.Allawi unveiled the underway meetings between the government and the representatives of the city of Al- Sadr , affirming that the atmospheres of the dialogue were positive to solve the problem and prevent of bloodshed , describing the military operations held in Samara as successful in realizing the desired goal .Hosting Allawi in the session, he described as successful his recent tour to London, Washington, UN and Jordan, affirming that the international community is supporting Iraq to start the reconstruction drive, decrease and cancel the Iraqi debts and refreshing ties with world countries particularly the neighbors.Meanwhile , the members of the national assembly inquired Dr. Iyad Allawi regards the conference on Iraq and the security situation scheduled in Cairo further for the government plans to make serious dialogue with the non representative forces in the political process and the government procedures to contain unemployment .

$ 33 MILLIONS FOR PROTECTING ELECTRICITY ENERGY SYSTEM Baghdad, As-Sabah, Oct 6, Page 1 The ministry of electricity has allocated $ 33 millions out of the donations to be spent on three years for developing the directorate of electricity energy system protection allover Iraq .Dr. Faris Raheed al-Baiyati said that these allocations came to promote the system and to purchase the supplies and requirements necessary for training the staff on the updated methods in the world.He added that the minister of electricity has approved the contract signed by the Amman-based al- Sharqia British company for security services , saying that the directorate will send for training courses about 50 staff members as a 1st group in the mid of October , referring that the contract stipulates training 100 staff member monthly on modern security technologies.

SHIPMENT OF EXPIRED MEDICINES SEIZED Baghdad, As-Sabah, Oct 6, Page 1 The police border in Shlamcha has seized large shipment of expired medicine sent from Iranian charity society to the Iraqi health departments.A security source at the borders guard said that the police asked help of the health departments in Basra after checking the expiry of the medicine, saying that the police found itself forced to seize the medicine. Notably the medicines are from various European, Syrian and Jordanian origins.

REVENUES OF IRAQI OIL EXPORTS INCREASED Baghdad, As-Sabah, Oct 6, Page 3 Iraq has realized additional revenues are exceeding half billion dollar in comparison with the previous months because of the prizes increase in the world markets.Mr, Dhiya al- Bakaa the director of the oil products marketing said that the increase is occurred owing to the stable security situations in the oil installations during this month, notifying that the increase of the prizes will contribute in increasing the exports, promoting the infrastructure and the oil sector improving.He confirmed that the additional sums help enlarging the investment and promotion plan to realize three millions barrels per in the advent of 2005.Al- Bakaa said that the quantities of the Iraqi oil amounted 1,724, 000 (bpd). Of which 154,000 barrels per day exported via Ceyhan northern port.He said that the Iraqi oil is exported to the world countries namely European, US and Asian companies.

AFTER DECLARING AIRPORT OPENING, Will BRITISH FORCES LEAVE BASRA AIRPORT? Baghdad, As-Sabah, Oct 6, P3 The Basra Airport is considered as one of the big airports in the Middle East Region which was implemented by German Company during 1980s. Work was stopped for while because of the Iraqi-Iranian war, then work was terminated after the end of that war, after while, the activity was increasing inside it under the control of the Iraqi government directly, but the navigation move halted after 1991 Gulf War. The airport didn't subject to any aggression until it was occupied by the British Forces after April 9, 2003. Now the airport is considered as the 1st British Base in the southern of Iraq, in which the headquarters of foreign and Arab companies have centered in it such as Bechtel, al-Khurafi International Company and other companies wait their role to practice work after stabilizing security. The British Forces have worked to make the airport as a large military Base which couldn't be violated through preventing the civilian navigation from practicing its usual activities.Several studies have been put to open it; some of these studies have intercepted with opposition of some persons, including Basra Board Council and the security departments who said that the presence of British forces is the cause behind preventing the opening the airport, while the officials of the Transport Ministry said that the security situation hinders the opening of the airport.The commander of southern borders forces has frequently confirmed that his forces have the ability to protect the airport from inside and outside, referring that the borders leadership is going to create airport protection unit to deploy outside the airport for 25 km in order to protect the airport from terrorists attacks .

PROCEDURES TO END ELECTRICITY WASTE Baghdad, As-Sabah, Oct 6, P3 The Ministry of Electricity has accomplished actual procedures to end the waste in electricity energy through connecting the near areas together in a unified electricity cutting program to eliminate the violations on electricity grid.Notably, the departments of electricity distribution on both Karkh and Rusafa districts are still continuing a campaign of eliminating violations on the electricity grid.An official source at the ministry said that the directorates all over the country are serious to improve the performance of the grid in high credibility.On the other side, an official source at the state directorate of middle-region electricity is continuing the rehabilitation of the electricity grid allover this region, referring that this plan is coming within a plan put to develop the electricity grid especially in areas benefiting from Station No. 29,…..until station No. 41 inside Kut.
