World Net Daily Poll- Democratic Terrorists Try to change the Number of Votes
World Net Daily ^

Posted on 10/06/2004 6:46:37 AM PDT by NVD

I was shocked to find that WND readers believed that Edwards won last night's debate. As I researched recent polls, I found that anywhere between 2,000-6,500 people participate each day in WND polls. The problem came when I found that by 9:00 AM, over 10,000 individuals had participated. Democratic Terrorists????

"Democratic Terrorists????"

Uhh... Terrorists hijack planes, blow up carbombs, abduct and behead civilians. Most apt, you could say terrorists conduct civil disruption and espionage.

Flooding polls is not terrorisms. Don't demean the concept of terrorism.

Lighten up.

Since I've been here (and, I assume, long before), people have been urged to "FReep this poll" by going to an online poll and voting in favor of the conservative candidate or belief.

The purpose of doing this is to show the unreliability of online polls, where anyone can come in and vote.

I'd hardly call this terrorism. In fact, I think that it cheapens the word to use it in this manner.

My hubby is a computer programmer. I My feeling is that those libs programmed their polls so that Edwards get more votes.

Someone mentioned last night that one of the Dems used a script to vote several hundred times.
The poster noted that an obscure poll in a small market was getting hit by the hundreds within seconds.
Now I don't know how that would be possible for the site not to crash unless this was the case.
Just something to consider.

Democratic Terrorists????

Operatives. While the Libs who participated in that scam aren't patriotic Americans, they aren't terrorists. Terrorist sympathizers maybe, but not terrorists.

Don't water down the power of that word.

I'm listening to Laura Ingraham. She said that even Chris Matthew admitted last night that Edwards "was not ready". Well, we all saw that.

I noticed that one myself. WND started requiring registration a few years ago after some 10,000 voters voted that it was OK to molest children.

Bump. And why does everyone add the ic after Democrat everytime they use the word? There is nothing democratic about them.

Because "Democratic" is the adjective form of "Democrat."

There are all types of programs that can't spoof your IP address and keep scripting polls. All you have to do is a google search and after downloading 50 million viruses you can probably get your hands on one. I have a feeling all online polls were jacked by no more than one individual with a few hours to kill.

Spoofing your IP address is actually not very easy. What is more, if someone goes through all the trouble to attempt to re-spoof new IPs over and over enough to affect a poll, well, they have no life and there is no hope or reason to care.

Maybe if your writing your own program. If you simply use sombody else's its a point and click process. If you wanted one and didn't know where to look, you would have to check a bunch of warez sites and be flooded with a million viruses, but its still possible to get one.

"Don't demean the concept of terrorism."

Amen to that. We have enough people corrupting the language without WND adding to the confusion.

"Democratic" is the adjective form of "Democrat."

I realize that. But when folks refer to Mr. Kerry, or any Democrat(ic) candidate for that matter, as the Democratic nominee, candidate, choice etc.etc.etc. are they using the adjective form wrongly? I don't know for sure. I mean Democrat itself is a noun. You are either a Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Communist or whatever. President Bush is hardly the Republicanic nominee now is he? ;-P

I've often wondered though, so i blurted it out. Call it one of my pet peeves, but thanks for answering.

Sorry for the interruptions. If this had been an actual emergency......we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

A lot of the votes are done by BOTs, automated programs that vote over and over until the user tells it to stop.

According to a friend of mine who is fairly good at writing programs, this kind of BOT is very easy to make and any script kiddy with some free time can do it.

That's because the adjective form of "Republican" is "Republican."
