At Right Moment, Edwards Pounced (Breslin raging drunk alert)
Newsday.com ^ | Wednesday, October 6, 2004 | Jimmy "Glenlivet" Breslin

Somewhere around 9:45 last night, Richard Cheney, vice president of the nation, turned and said to Sen. John Edwards, Democratic candidate, that he missed big votes in the Senate and had the worst attendance record. Cheney said that he sat as the head of the Senate and was there for practically every session.

Cheney spoke in a deep, dull, confident voice and said things like, "al-Zarqawi has been in Baghdad before the war and after the war." As if all this smoke and fire and reports of dead soldiers and dead babies are an illusion.

Now he said snidely to Edwards, "The first time I met you was when you walked onto the stage tonight."

Until this point, Cheney had attempted to become a sitting advertisement for smugness. He sat and threw out shadings and plain lies at times and tried to make it look reasonable. Edwards, the experienced trial man, was supposed to bury him and this was not happening.

I'm far from being upset but thanks for your concern. Do you cackle like that in real life, or just on the Net?

you'd think he'd have that one down, at least.

Remember.... Lawyers are good at lying about their clients. When it comes to lying about oneself, the body telegraphs the truth.

I never said Breslin was my hero. You don't seem terribly bright. It's not your fault.

"bitter and dumb too......"

Yes, I agree. In fact, I noticed that quality in you from your first post. Anyway, gotta run. You probably post here 24/7 and unlike you I've got better things to do with my time. So if I bother to reply to your next "HAHAHAHAHA" salvo, it won't be until tomorrow.

"Just because you don't like Breslin or what he writes, it doesn't mean he is drunk. In any case, he probably writes better drunk than you do sober."

So are you Breslin? hic-up...

Thanks but I prefer pints, which I drink in the pub with friends, rather than posting all day to strangers on a message board.

I sneaked back for an hour but I can't be bothered to reply to the hahaha-happy clappy Southern bible belt woman because I suspect if I do, she won't go away. It doesn't pay to throw these people a bone - otherwise getting rid of them is harder than kicking a Jehovah's Witness out of your home. I thought people like only existed on bad American television but apparently they are actually real.

/HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

All Edwards did by making that comment was engratiate himself to the black voters, who will vote overwhelmingly for him anyway.

He also gave me a very bad case of deja vu, as this exact thing was said to him in 2000. As if nothing important has happened since then ... (maybe to a typical Dem. it hasn't!)

Me thinks you doth protest too much. By the looks of your rambling sentences I think you just might have the "clap".
