I never had any doubt she would be fair because I know her and Dr. Condoleezza Rice are very close friends. She would do her job as best she could. I'm glad she asked Cheney some hard questions because he could handle them and he looked great. Also, considering Cheney won, the dems can't say its becasue he had easy questions.

Agree 90% - Although I wanted to scream at her through the TV when she asked (as a new question) Silky Pony if he felt that the jibes against trial lawyers were personal attacks - that was a stupid, idiotic, bravo-sierra question, and a waste of valuable time and air to ask and/or answer.

Other than that, nothing standa out in my mind as being overly partisan one way or the other.

IMHO Gwen did a very good job.

I did think the questions about AIDS should not have been include. And not a word about illegal aliens!

Edwards came out poorly both in substance and in style. He refused to answer questions and went into his memorized spin. His frenzied hand signals were distracting, perhaps they were meant to be. And his flip demeanor did not help. He came across far less likable than I expected.

Not the first three part land-mined question to Cheney. But the VP gracefully stepped over it and gave a statement on Iraq and why it's the right war. She then went on to be fair.

Add me to the list. She was very fair and did a marvelous job. I'm also happy to note that the audiences have been quiet during both debates. I always cringe at the applause and cheers for either candidate during a debate.

As many here have said, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought she did a good job and even dug a little at Edwards when he tried to be cute.

I thought she did an OK job, but I believe Vice President Cheney had to bring up the Senators (Kerry and Edwards) records including their absenses.

She was fine, although she had too many follow-up questions that covered ground that had already covered.

Also, her AIDS question needlessly tried to exclude foreign issues, to avoid the massive Bush spending in Africa.

Too often, her question read like it was for the first guy, but was not so much rebuttable, as answerable by the second guy.

The best was when she gave both Cheney and Edwards an evil glare after they totally BS'd there way through the question about black women and AIDS.

She did great! I loved the question to Cheney about litigation and rampant civil lawsuits causing health care costs to rise...then saying did he feel Edwards was part of the problem?

I sensed an undertone of her obviously liberal personal biases in the framing of questions, but overall she did a much better job of being evenhanded than Leher. I think she was being as objective as she consciously could.
