Double slam for Islam: Hub mosque, Muslim radicals under fire (Mosquerade)
Boston Herald ^ | Wednesday, October 6, 2004 | By Tom Mashberg

The Muslim organization behind a vast new $22 million mosque in Roxbury received a double blow yesterday after an Islamic scholar accused its leaders of tolerating ``hateful views'' and a city councilor ordered a probe into how the group acquired a choice piece of Hub-owned land at a bargain rate.

Councilor Jerry P. McDermott (D-Brighton), vice chairman of the Post Audit and Oversight Committee, ordered city officials to explain why a 1.9-acre parcel along Malcolm X Boulevard, conservatively valued at $401,187, was sold to the Islamic Society of Boston for $175,000 and ``in-kind benefits'' to Roxbury Community College.

The Herald reported last week that the land deal is the subject of a lawsuit asserting that it represents an unconstitutional government subsidy of a religion: Islam.

``We want a full accounting by the end of the month,'' McDermott said. ``If they can afford a $22 million mosque, why can't they pay fair-market value for the land?''

Boston Redevelopment Authority officials said they could not comment due to the litigation.

Also yesterday, a Muslim-American scholar joined the growing chorus of voices urging the Islamic Society's leadership to disavow any connections to radical Islam.

At a press conference sponsored by Citizens for Peace and Tolerance (www.hatefreeamerica.com), Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour, an Egyptian-born political refugee once jailed there for defending moderate Islamic causes, said ``I am here to testify that this radical culture is here inside this society.''

Mansour, a former visiting fellow at Harvard Law School, said he went to the society's current headquarters in Cambridge a year ago and discovered ``Arabic-language newsletters filled with hateful statements against the United States.'' He also said the center's library housed books and videos ``representing fanatical beliefs that insult other people's religions.''

Representatives of the society have repeatedly declined to comment to the Herald since the newspaper, beginning in 2003, started highlighting ties between four of the mosque's key figures and Islamic radicals. They refused to comment yesterday on any matters.

On their Web site (www.isboston.org), the society has posted rebuttals to the Herald articles. On Sept. 10, the society posted a ``values statement'' that says: ``We, the Islamic Society of Boston, practice and promote a comprehensive, balanced view of Islam. We strive to embody the middle path to which our scriptures call us, a path of moderation, free of extremism, and representative of the Islamic vision of a healthy community.''

But Mansour said he fears radical Islamists could gain an upper hand at the new cultural center. ``I'm

The City is dummying up on this, seems that a truckful of stick-ups can't cover the smell of this deal.

This couldn't have anything to do with the BRA Development Manager Muhammad Ali-Salaam could it?

Glad to see "separation of church and state" only applies to Christians...

The Globe web poll was pounded last night, respondents claiming 76/13 that Edwards won the debate.

Malcolm X Boulevard

Uhh, yeah, when you have a "Malcolm X Boulevard" to begin with, is there any question as to why these things happen?

The funny thing is, these so-called "intolerant" lefties would be the first to swing from the lamposs under Islamic governance, and make no mistake about it, Mohammedans in America (and everywhere else) are working towards that goal.

Don't forget this is where Bin Laden's relatives were holed up prior to 9/11.

Coinkydenkal?

The insidious thing about these "cultural centers" is that they slide into minority communities and are hailed by local black muslim leaders (don mohammed)and city officials (menino) who curry favor with them.

The wahabis look on black muslims with the same hate as they hold for christians, jews and other infidels.

Our "tolerance" is our downfall.

This country can't even recognize that Mohammedans hate us and are actively working to turn this country into an Islamic state.

I saw a girl who couldn't have been older than 5 in a Mohammedan veil in Wal-Mart last night.

Of course, her mother was wearing a full length abayya and her sons were wearing their Mohammedan caps.

If you don't believe that's "in your face," you're stupid and naive.

Heh Mad Anthony, many of us here are disgusted!!! Wish you lived here to help us!!!

McDermott said it best:

``If they can afford a $22 million mosque, why can't they pay fair-market value for the land?''

The "in-kind" reimbursements offered for the land, in lieu of money were gratuities for future religious speaking engagements or something stupid like that.
This makes these situations stink to high heaven!!! We're trying to get the MA courts to make the Dems simply obey the law! And THAT is proving VERY difficult!

The MA Supreme Court's recently discovered a marriage right written into the Constitution by our forefathers for gays. Imagine that! They acted quickly, because a citizen's petition was being illegally tabled by the legislators, a petition with more than enough signatures to require this be decided by a ballot referendum!

The petition was tabled so that the activist judges could decide for us and impose their eager-to-legislate majority (only a 4-3 majority) on all MA citizens.

The situation here has become dangerously totalitarian. Pray for us! The Republicans are coming! Hope is on the way!

The SJC's orders came directly from the New York Times.

They were written under Anthony Lewis' pillow and given to his green-carded wife
who now runs the Massachusetts Courts (under direct orders by the New York Times).

"Citizens for Peace and Tolerance (www.hatefreeamerica.com),"

Hmm, possible double entendre. Do they support a "hate free" America, or do they "hate a free America"?

You are actually seeing the first steps in what will become an Islamic swarming of America. Once in place thay will claim the right to practice their religion in schools, malls, public buildings. The mosques will bocome citadels housing the teachings, tools of violence and terror, free of police interference under the protection of "freedom to worship".

Islam is on the march. Americans, with catastrophic innocence in their welcoming of diversity, will get all that they allow.

No question that the connection between Marshall and the Times. This needs to be aired. The 3-way collusion between the "free" press, the MA judges and the ruling Democrat legislators is why we need to re-establish the two party system here in MA.

The Dem elites in every controlling office, have now mandated a lifestyle of "tolerance" going way beyond the fringes of morality. They have taken to imposing their new society morality upon the rest of us -- by Court order!

No longer is abstinence considered a virtue. Each person from adolescence is taught, indeed challenged to discover his/her sexuality, (as if purpose is found there?).
And pray tell, how does a young person make these supremely important decisions in life if he/she isn't being sexually active?

Enter sex and self centeredness as our highest virtues. Exit moral absolutes and Christian principles. Make the base mandated as law and the highest virtues? make them illegal.
