You have to do something pretty bad to get disciplined by the bar--steal from clients, get caught in a complete factual fraud, forget to show up--and the punishments are rather mild. A frivolous suit doesn't even rate, unless you really tick off the judge. The idea of tort lawyers disciplining each other by committee and keeping their incomes down is beyond ridiculous.
We are in total agreement. I used the bar as an example of how poorly self regulation within the community of lawyers works.
