Recently, Football Fans for Truth learned that John Kerry claimed a significant achievement: qualifying and running the Boston Marathon. In an ESPN interview, he said, "I ran a marathon back in '80, something like that. Did the Boston Marathon." An ESPN analysis of his athletic achievements mentions that "[he] ran the Boston Marathon in the 1970s". In its November 2004 issue, Runner's World observes that John Kerry "[ran] the Boston Marathon in the '70s". In April 2002, John Kerry was the starter for the Boston Marathon. The Daily Free Press reports that Senator Kerry "lamented the fact that time constraints had made it impossible for him to run in the Marathon, which he participated in 20 years ago." In a conversation with a Iowa state senator, John Kerry said, "I remember my first Boston Marathon ... it's a great run." In a later article, ESPN tried to nail down the exact date and reported that "there's no official record of his feat, and his campaign did not provide further details despite repeated inquiries." The November issue of Runner's World reports that "he doesn't recall his time, and no official record exists".

Maybe he meant he ran to Boston to meet Mara in a thong...
Actually Kerry did run the Boston Marathon. It was in 1980 and he was running it with a woman named Rosie Ruiz.
A previous post said that W did one in 3:44.
I've yet to run a marathon, sticking to 5k, 5 mile and 10k local races so far.
However, I can assure you that every marathon runner I've ever met can remember every mile of the event. Perhaps someone who's run dozens of such events will forget the particulars of a race, but Kerry isn't one of those person.
John Kerry and Rosie Ruiz. Both never ran Boston, though she at least showed up in a runner's outfit.
Another lie by the cheese-eating surrender monkey!!
My brother's an avid marathoner. *I* remember the years he ran the Boston Marathon (as a bandit, unregistered).
As you said, no one woould forget which year they ran (or tried to run) the premiere marathon event in the world.
Unless it was seared, seared, into your memory.
It might make him the first President who felt he had to lie about having run a marathon.
We have seen how dangerous it was for the country to be run by a man who was obsessed with being liked (Clinton)-
Now what...again?
Turns them into 57 kinds of relish, which moose put on cheese before they bite anyone's sister.
Damn, there is some alcohol in these Mic Ultras!
No, the mofo probably took a taxi and to him he ran the marathon. (liberal rationalization)
If he'd run it, he'd remember his time. Wouldn't everyone?
Well-freaking put.
NOT again if I can help it.
And this one would be worse. My teenage daughter told me today that with Clinton you could see at least a hint of a conscience buried deep in there somewhere. With Kerry, she sees no hint at all.
Not even J Fn K would be so nonchalant reminiscing about a first Boston Marathon if he had really done it.
John Kerry has a big problem!

HOW MANY OF THESE TRAITS TO YOU SEE IN JOHN KERRY? I SEE ALL OF THEM. KERRY IS SICK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, AND WE CAN NOT ALLOW THIS NUT CASE TO GET ELECTED.
What he meant was, that he ran a marathon in Cambodia, during Christmas(while being shot at by drunk South Vietnamese) in 1968, when President Nixon said he wasn't there. Anyway, the whole thing is super secret because there were special forces involved and he can't prove it because of that
From an unconfirmed source:
"MSNBC (on Sept 29th '04) was just interviewing Runners World editor in chief - David Willey, who talked about the candidates' running.
MSNBC showed a picture of Bush running, with a personal best of 3 hours 44 minutes in the marathon. The interviewer asked Willey about Kerrys claims that Kerry had run the Boston marathon, and Willey responded that Kerry did run the Boston marathon, but only as a bandit runner, which means no official number."
ON post #12 on this thread I have a link to his friend George Butler who has taken over 6000 photos of Kerry since the 70s, and even went on first his honeymoon with him to document it.
The MSM gives him a pass on all of this, so most people don't have a clue and probably never will.
