Bush-Cheney '04 Launches New Television Advertisement, "Tort Reform"
George W. Bush ^ | October 5, 2004

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Tort Reform."  The ad highlights John Kerry and the liberals in Congress' responsibility for the crisis in women's access to healthcare.  Kerry and the liberals have sided with the trial lawyers in opposing legal reform to stop the frivolous lawsuits that are forcing maternity wards to close and OB-GYNs to be forced out.  The ad will run on national cable and in select local markets.

The ad features Dr. Patricia Stephenson, a physician who practices in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Script For "Tort Reform"

Dr. Patricia Stephenson:
There is a crisis in healthcare.  There's a crisis in women's access to healthcare in this country.

Voice Over:
Maternity wards closing.
OB-GYNs being forced out.
The reason:
Frivolous lawsuits.
John Kerry and the liberals in Congress side with the trial lawyers.
They opposed legal reform 10 times.

Dr. Patricia Stephenson:
If Mr. Kerry and his allies were elected I don't think there would be any hope for tort reform in this country.

President Bush:
I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.

I wish more people were on the bandwagon for tort reform...it's just too ridiculous....wonder how many dems in congress would be out of a job if tort reform attacked and made some headway....

This is an absolutely killer ad. I predict this will be the final nail in Kerry's coffin vis-a-vis women voters.

I like this because it hits at the Edwards right before the debate. This is how Edwards made his money. Reform edwards right out of business once the Bush/Cheney team is elected.

Great theme. John Edwards has almost more than any other lawyer made it very difficult for women to have adequate health care during preganancy. it is simply no longer worht the monetary hassel for doctors to handle those cxase thanks to Johnny Boy. So when the Dems talk about destroying quality health care--they need only look in the mirror. Is it any wonder women will flock to Bush-Cheney once they realize just what Edwards is all about.
