Kerry made this comment at the debate last week. Turns out this information was well known and brought up during the Clinton Administration. Seems Richard Clarke made this alarming fact known to Clinton's Security Advisor. Not much is known about what was done at that time, but Clinton's Security Adviser, Sandy Berger, TOOK INFORMATION RELATING TO THIS VERY TOPIC OUT OF THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES WHEN HE GOT CAUGHT BACK IN AUGUST.
Per Fox News.
Would not a sitting member of the Senate Intelligence Committee have also known about this?
Oh , so now we know skerry was referring to the Clinton Administration. He needs to be a little clearer.
I AM STILL very irate that Sandy Berger has STILL not been indicted for the removal of those documents.
Laws do not apply to Democrats.
"I AM STILL very irate that Sandy Berger has STILL not been indicted for the removal of those documents."
"Inside the Beltway"..... "What happens here, stays here."
They will not go after Burger, he will get a "pass". After his many years inside the beltway, I'm sure he has acquired at least 1 "get out of jail free" pass.
Sad ... but so very true!!!
Laws do not apply to Democrats. Apparently ever. or never. What is going on in this country?
Not even the law of gravitas.
It was David Asman. Thanks for posting this.
Is Sandy Berger in jail yet???
Isn't it a CRIME to stuff national security documents in your socks and leave with them???
If you or I did that we'd be in jail right now
Feds say Berger still under probe

It would be interesting to know if those documents from the Clinton administration have been transcribed yet and if there was information in the documents that mentioned 9/11 was coming?
Berger would have only burgled to protect information so explosive that it made the theft worth the risk. Explosive information that perhaps 9/11 could have been prevented?
So let me see if I have this straight: Sandy Berger took documents regarding a backlog of tapes that would have been highly detrimental to the Clinton administration while he was an "adviser" to John Kerry -- and Kerry used those same documents to accuse Bush of not doing his job?
Correct me where I'm wrong.
On the other thread OxeninFla posted an article dated before the debate--September 28--that had the info.
So, Kerry could have gotten it from there.
The first time I clicked Oxen's link I was able to view the article. Now when I click it the site wants me to register so I have verified, but I thought as you did until he posted that pre-debate article.
Still--why Berger would take those documents and what was done with them, etc, looms large.
You got it.
I thought this kind of stuff was a crime?
Who leaked the fact that there's a backlog to begin with?
This needs to be tracked down ASAP. It fits right into the memo that was "stolen" by a Republican staffer a long time ago. Remember that?
The Dem memo that outlined the Dem strategy of alluding to classified information for political purposes during the campaign?
I believe this is that strategy at play.
Who was the source for the original story about the backlog?
How did this even become public knowledge?
You are correct.
And Berger was attempting to remove all evidence that this happened while Clinton was in office, and while Kerry was in the Senate.
It makes me wonder, though. All of the information that Richard Clarke has provided has not exactly been a tool for the Democratic party. I know he has an axe to grind with Dr. Rice because of whatever, but this and one other issue supported the President and damned the Clinton administration.
Berger is singing, obviously. This is the first I had heard about these new documents.
I am not inclined to register at the site but here is the article posted on the other thread and a couple posts later he provides the link. The source was an audit released a week ago Monday:
