An unknown suspect fired several shots into the Bearden office of the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign Tuesday morning.
The headquarters are located at 4618 Kingston Pike, next to Noveau Classics and in the same shopping plaza as Long's Drugstore.
According to Knoxville Police Department (KPD) officers on the scene Tuesday, it is believed that the two separate shots were fired from a car sometime between 6:30 am and 7:15 am.
One shot shattered the glass in the front door and the other cracked the glass in another of the front doors.
There were no witnesses to the shooting. A customer at a nearby dry cleaning store noticed shattered glass on the sidewalk in front of the headquarters and called police.
Volunteers and staffers at the campaign office say they have no clues as to who might have committed the crime. However, they add that the shooting makes them even more enthusiastic and energized about working for their candidates.
"If I have to sleep here (at the campaign office) now, that's what I'll do," says volunteer Suzanne Dewar.
In an unexpected twist, a bank directly across the street from the headquarters was robbed just as KPD officers were busy investigating at the scene of the shooting.
THis helps the democrats how? They are hateful and ignorant.
Democrappers have become political terrorists.
The party of tolerance and diversity! LOL
And yes, that are that nuts.
They are becoming like communist revolutionaries.
Locally, a family that had a Bush/Cheney sign in their yard woke up this morning to find swastikas painted all over their property. Does anyone think the perps will be charged with a hate crime?
In every other circumstance but this, yes.
I have never before witnessed the seething, animalistic hatred of a sitting president at any prior time in my now 4 decade long life. Even when Nixon was on the verge of resigning, even when Carter was the king of depression and even when it was known that Clinton not only had sex with that woman but also either nearly committed or committed treason. This hatred is dangerous, and it may be like the hatred demonstrated by the Jacobins at the time of the French Revolution. I think Bush is too nice. The Constitution *DOES* allow for certain measures considered extreme, as part of the President's duty to uphold the oath of office. If bloody revolution is being planned, then it is time for extreme measures and failure to execute them would be gross incompetence. Have we grown so flaccid and liberal that we would not *UTTERLY CRUSH* revolution? If that is the case, then, beware the *COUNTER REVOLUTION*! Maybe Franco was not all that bad.
Ever wonder why the Rats can't get this worked up over Islamic Terrorists?
In a lot of third world countries, there is a lot of
violence and shooting associated with elections.
Looks like we might have imported some of that 'style'
election practice with all the lovely new cultures.
Good Lord! Pray for the safety of those in the Bush/Cheney campaign, including the guys at the top, of course!
On Rush now
DNC brownshirts.
Stealing Republican computers from campaign head quarters. Firing into severeal re-election offices for Bush/Cheney.
Tell me again how these people aren't terrorists?
Keep your powder dry....this is gonna get worse before it gets better.
Happened here in WV, Huntington I believe, on primary night. A shot was fired into the Rep. HQ only this time, folks were present in the HQ. No blood no foul.
