Whew! Is it much needed rain? Or too much?

We are actually having a few days in a row with no rain. Mostly sunny and in the 60s/70s. I've gotta get started on prepping the outside areas for the winter. Scrubbing dirt and grime off of deck, porch, grill, patio table, etc. Hope I can get to it before we start getting rain again!

We are wwaaaaaayyyyyyy over our annual rainfall for the year already, but had several weeks without any rain at all in July & August. Either feast or famine this year and all the lakes are FULL! Normally, the lake I live near is 20 - 30 feet down, because the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) sends water down river for the rice farmers. It is down only 2 1/2 ft now.

We had so much rain this year, the LCRA had to keep the generators running to keep the level somewhat safe. There were two times they had to open one or two flood gates to lower the lake, as it was into the flood pool. That gets real hairy when the level gets anywhere over the 681 ft above sea level. There are a lot of homes in the 690+ level.
