"If you're going to act like a Mexican, we're going to treat you like a Mexican." What's so wrong with a statement like that anyhow? Mexican is a nationality just like American is --- I sure don't mind acting and being treated like an American --- it's not something to be ashamed of. Or if someone said "If you're going to act like a Canadian, we're going to treat you like a Canadian" --- it wouldn't really be something that would offend a Canadian who might like to be treated as one. It sounds like she herself has a problem with the term "Mexican".

Still though, a large segment of San Antonio will always worship the popular Van de Putte, no matter what she says, thinks, or thinks she said, or thought she thought! Van de Putte is the people pleaser of San Antonio!
