What Kerry Said About Pre-Emptive Doctrine In Debate
At Miami Presidential Debate, Kerry Said Americas Self-Defense Must Pass Global Test. No president, though all of American history, has ever ceded, and nor would I, the right to preempt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America. But if and when you do it, Jim, you have to do it in a way that passes the test, that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why youre doing what youre doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons. (Sen. John Kerry, First Presidential Debate, Miami, FL, 9/30/04)

The Facts |
Kerry Saw Same Intelligence President Saw
Kerry Had National Intelligence Estimate Before Voting To Authorize Force. NBCS TIM RUSSERT: [Y]ou had access to the intelligence. You had access to the national intelligence estimate SEN. JOHN KERRY: Absolutely. (NBCs Meet The Press, 8/31/03)
And Kerry Was Presented With Same Evidence From CIA As Administration Officials. SEN. JOHN KERRY: We were presented an enormous amount of evidence by the CIA, the intelligence community, and we voted accordingly and, I think, appropriately. I think we have to wait and see. I think it is still too early, and the judgment isnt in yet. We need to debrief more of the people who have turned themselves over. We need to debrief some of those who have been involved in those program [sic]. So, lets wait on that judgment. (MSNBCs Hardball, 5/19/03)
Came To Same Conclusion About Threat
Kerry Agreed With Removing Saddam Hussein. I agree completely with this Administrations goal of a regime change in Iraq Saddam Hussein is a renegade and outlaw who turned his back on the tough conditions of his surrender put in place by the United Nations in 1991. (Senator John Kerry, Speech To The 2002 DLC National Conversation, New York, NY, 7/29/02)
Kerry Voted For Iraq War Resolution. (H.J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48-1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kerry Voted Yea)
Said We Should Spend What It Takes To Win
Kerry: We Should Increase Funding To Iraq By Whatever Number Of Billions Of Dollars It Takes To Win. MR. RUSSERT: Do you believe that we should reduce funding that we are now providing for the operation in Iraq? SEN. KERRY: No. I think we should increase it. MR. RUSSERT: Increase funding? SEN. KERRY: Yes. MR. RUSSERT: By how much? SEN. KERRY: By whatever number of billions of dollars it takes to win. It is critical that the United States of America be successful in Iraq, Tim.... (NBCs Meet The Press, 8/31/03)
Then Turned Around And Voted Against Funding For Our Troops
Kerry Voted Against Senate Passage Of Iraq/Afghanistan Reconstruction Package. (S. 1689, CQ Vote #400: Passed 87-12: R 50-0; D 37-11; I 0-1, 10/17/03, Kerry Voted Nay)
And Now Says Were Spending Too Much In Iraq
Kerry Says America Is Spending Too Much On Iraq. $200 billion for Iraq, but they tell us we cant afford after-school programs for our children; $200 billion in Iraq, but they tell us we cant afford health care for our veterans; $200 billion for Iraq, but they tell us we cant afford to keep the 100,000 police officers we put on the street, Kerry said. (Mary Dalrymple, Kerry Says Bush Broke Promises, Set Wrong Course In Iraq, The Associated Press, 9/8/04)

John Kerry lies, people die.
The Kerry Doctrine: Talk loudly and carry NO stick.
Bite me.
John Kerry would NEVER say that Bush lies .... would he?
JF'nK just doesn't get it. *sigh*
No he doesn't. But you can bet we will 'Get It' if this buffoon gets elected.
Readin' that got me dizzy!
Work hard and Be Ever Vigilant!
I hope somebody at the RNC caught Kerry's remarks today at a forum on stem cell research.
Kerry said that Bush's policies played " to the people in the cheap seats ."
As opposed to the people in the suites that Kerry plays to.
This is as elitist as windsurfing and if the RNC is on their toes, they'll recognize this as an insulting Kerry gaffe and get on it.
Additional Kerry gaffes from Debate 1 and GOP clarifications for Debate #1:
Isnt it repulsive for Kerry to
A) call Bush a 'liar' then
B) when asked about it in the debate say he didnt call Bush a liar
C) go right back to calling Bush a liar after the debate
JEEEZ what putz Kerry is. How well someone did in the debate is a matter of OPINION and for Kerry to call someone a 'liar' for using his own words is indeed 'PATHETIC'.
Pocket Gate!
If you could maybe make your post a little more busy and graphics-filled, that would be nice. Maybe a few horizontal lines would clutter it up, get rid of that stark minimalism that currently prevails.
lol
Personally, I liked the fact that he referred to those opposed to embryonic stem cell harvesting as "right wing zealots."
THE POPE IS A RIGHT WING ZEALOT?!
Why, you inbred self-righteous poodle.
Go to Hell. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars.
THE POPE IS A RIGHT WING ZEALOT?!
Why, you inbred self-righteous poodle.
Go to Hell. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars.
...do not collect 200 MILLION dollars.
Ha! Point!
I think that was incredibly stupid. Politically I mean.
These are exactly the types of statements that could motivate the religious right to get out the vote.
