"Hamas as a political organization does not mean that every member is a militant"

I believe today more than I have ever, that there is no hope for humanity. We have scum that cant be rooted out, And the President is going to need more fire power and prayer and support now more than ever. THe vermin are everywhere you turn your head. This President has to cut off ties with Canada or take it over. This President needs to shut the U.N down and call for its dismantling and cesastion. Enough is enough. The islamic beast is rising...Who will cut its head off?

"We demand of our staff, whatever their political persuasion is, that they behave in accordance with UN standards and norms for neutrality," he said.

And We should believe the same religion of peace also that they play by the rules?

Stretcher and missles? Hmmm..

I would be upset, but its just Canada. They've ceased being relevent a long time ago. That applies to the U.N. also.

We could take over Kanada without firing a shot. They have lots of oil in the western provinces and their supreme court has already ruled the provices can secede. I would be in favor of taking everything but ontario and quebec. They can keep those two...

U.S. Department of State
Press Statement
Adam Ereli, Deputy Spokesman
Washington, DC
July 29, 2004
www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2004/34778.htm

"President George W. Bush has authorized the Department of State to use up to $20 million from the U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund to assist Palestinian refugees in the West Bank and Gaza through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

This contribution is in response to the agency's $193 million 2004 emergency appeal to fund food, shelter, health, and other urgent humanitarian needs of the over 1.5 million Palestinian refugees in the West Bank and Gaza.

This brings our total contribution to the emergency appeal to $40 million in 2004. The United States is the largest bilateral donor to UNRWA.

We continue to encourage other donors to respond urgently to this emergency appeal."

Your addition to the title misrepresents the article.

See the lead paragraph in the article that you have posted: "JERUSLAEM - The federal government is promising to look into the possibility that a United Nations agency Canada backs is employing members of Hamas, a Palestinian group Canada has defined as terrorists.

Canada is investigating the allegation that UNRWA is too cozy with Hamas and has expressed concern about the comments made by Mr. Hansen.

From what in this article do you get the claim that you shouted in your upper-case addition to the headline.

As noted by another poster, the US also supports UNRWA and to the tune of a much larger amount than Canada. Is the US also investigating this agency for its ties to terrorists?

Does the US also LOVE HAMAS?

Every Freeper knows that Canada Harbors Terrorists! They have the worst boarders and the scum of the earth and worst Immigration Laws. AS former PRime Minister CHretien.

"It was another shameful Canadian moment.

Canadian Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chrétien added to his dismal record in the war on terrorism when his government just recently published a list of seven outlawed terrorist organizations in Canada. The murderous Hamas organization was not among them.

Hamas is the terrorist group responsible for the suicide bombings in Israel that have killed hundreds of innocent people. Its twin brother in murder and mayhem, Hezbollah, also didn't make the banned list.

The opposition conservative Canadian Alliance Party, to its credit, immediately attacked the Liberals for the scandalous omissions, as well as for taking so long in coming out with the list of illegal groups after 9/11. The Alliance is demanding that both Hamas and Hezbollah be proscribed immediately. The Party's foreign affairs critic, Stockwell Day, stated that there is no reason for Hamas to be allowed to raise funds and conduct other activities in Canada, especially in light of a recent terrorist attack against Israel.

This is the wacky world of leftist Liberal Canada. Common sense action is a rarity in government here. So it should come as no surprise that, while the United States has designated Hamas a terrorist organization and shut down its fundraising branches, Chrétien, to his shame, has refused to do so.

The Prime Minister has excused himself by saying that Hamas has a charitable wing that runs schools and hospitals in the Gaza strip and West Bank; only its military wing, he says, should be sanctioned.

Canada's leader naively believes that, with the money it raises in Canada, Hamas will buy books instead of bombs once the cash reaches the Middle East."

Moreover, after 9/11, Chrétien denied there were any terrorist groups operating in his country until his own security organization went to the media and contradicted him, saying there were 50 such groups on Canadian soil.

As if having to deal with the Canadian government's disgraceful actions isn't enough, Canadians now also have to live with the shame of Hamas's bragging that Canada is a great place to do business. An FBI electronic eavesdropping operation of a secret meeting at a hotel in Philadelphia in 1993 recorded members of Hamas boasting to other Islamic radicals about their money-raising efforts in Canada. This was demonstrated by documents filed in a Washington court
Business in Canada was so good for Hamas, according to the FBI report, that the terrorist organization's members "...encouraged more fundraising activities in Canada."

Twenty-five Islamic extremists from Washington, Virginia, New Jersey, Mississippi and Canada attended the Philadelphia meeting. Sixteen hours of recorded conversation included information that one Islamic organization in Canada collected $214,000 in only six months in 1993. Another collected $167,000 in 1992, while still another took in $189,000 the same year.

With Canada serving as such a lucrative cash cow, Hamas must undoubtedly look to the Liberal government with feelings of gratitude and relief. Its money-raising operations, after all, are safe here in this country. Those helping this murderous organization to raise "charitable" funds will not face the maximum 10 years in prison they would receive for helping any of the recently banned groups.

Hamas, in any form or shape, poses a real threat to Western civilization. It is driven by the same dangerous ideology as the other radical Islamic groups. It is a grave error to leave Hamas's operations unimpeded anywhere.

Nonetheless, thanks to Canadian Prime Minister Chrétien, one of the Middle East's most notorious terrorist organizations can still serve as a forward base for Islamic extremism in at least one part of North America.

How many Hamas heads in Toronto and Montral and Vancouver have the RCMP busted? Brought to justice? I cant think of any recently can you? This is just a PR thing on behalf of Canada . They are not on the same page on the war on terror. They have not made and drastic changes to chase the terrorists and alter their Immigration laws.

Canada condemns Israel's assassination of Hamas leader Rantisi June 25, 2004

Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham on Sunday condemned Israel's assassination of Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi, saying it would only serve to escalate the tension in the Middle East.

Graham told Canadian Television " we call on Israel to use restraint in circumstances where, in fact, we are all working hardto try and get the ultimate goal of peace."

Hamas is a designated terrorist organization in the United States and Britain but not in Canada, where -- almost a year after the Sept. 11 attacks -- the Liberal Cabinet has outlawed only al-Qaeda and six affiliated groups under its new anti-terrorism law.

"Hamas as a political organization does not mean that every member is a militant"

Oh yes it does!
Anyone that can't, or won't see that is a functional idiot.

Else why, after 60 years, is "palestine", that fictional international unit, still a primitive, murdering cesspool, instead of a country?

Front groups operating in Canada include the Jerusalem Fund for Human Services (Hamas Front), the World Tamil Movement (Tamil Tigers Front), the Canadian Kurdish Information Network (Kurdistan Workers Party Front) and the Babbar Khalsa (a Sikh extremist front)."
