WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 - Plenty of news media analysts thought Senator John Kerry looked good at Thursday night's presidential debate, but Fox News went a step further, posting a made-up news article on its Web site that quoted Mr. Kerry as gloating about his fine manicure and his "metrosexual" appearance.
Fox News quickly retracted the article, saying in an editor's note on its Web site that the article "was written in jest and should not have been posted or broadcast.'' It said, "We regret the error, which occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment, not malice."

Boy what a contrast between Fox and CBS which still has not retracted or apologised for the Bush document fraud.
The parts of Carl Cameron's humor piece that I saw were funny. Too bad the libs in politics and media have no sense of humor. Especially Kerry, whose skin is thinner than rice paper.
What no, "The quotes may have been false, but nobody has given much thought to the questions raised by those quotes."?
It took the NYT to point it out, seemingly making hay out of the situation, while on the other hand, the same newspaper defends CBS' use of forged documents as "accurate".
True, but we really could do without the example-- we don't need to give the MSM the ability to skate out from under their serious credibility problem because they're able to say "See? Fox did it too!"-- regardless of how idiotic the comparison is.
I wish people would stop screwing around and just report the news.
wish people would stop screwing around and just report the news.
Ditto here.
LOL!! That's good!
Amen. I had mixed feelings about this article. As you pointed out, the rest of the MSM media will say "See? Fox did it too!"
News organizations should report the news instead of creating the news.
Stories made up, just lessen the credibility of the news organization involved. In this case, FOX News.
FAKE BUT ACCURATE!
Amen. I have enough intelligence to make my own decisions. DON'T tell me what it means, just give me the danged news
Fox is wicked.
I want to get a TV that only receives Fox and ESPN2.
OMG! Kerry is a metrosexual??? Wait til they hear about this in Peoria!
(Where probably 98% of people have no clue what a "metrosexual" is, but it sure don't sound good...)
We all know that the 'net is full of misinformation. Caveat emptor.
More of a problem if it is actually broadcast
To prevent duplicates, please do not alter the heading. Thanks.
Its true! He's a Hetro! Metro sexual whos 1/4 gay!
you already have one
I have one thing to say to the New York Slimes.
Jayson Blair.
Or, if they want to really go back, Walter Duranty.
